請問大家有沒有聽聞？海外students 也受影響，大家有冇收到學校有冇措施？例如一筆過交學費？

其實吹左一段時間，唔係新聞了。首先，工黨上又未必一定落實徵稅，如果徵稅， 學校會absorb 部分，未必完全家長俾曬。Mumsnet 有很多討論

Some schools offer the option for parents to pay all school fees in advance, instead of yearly or termly. It has been suggested that fees paid in this way, before the introduction of a VAT charge, might not be liable for the charge. Since the announcement, some private schools have been reminding parents of this option. However, apart from the fact that very few parents would be able to afford this, there are several reasons why it might not apply. One, pointed out by The Independent School Bursar’s Association, is that the government could change the rules so that the VAT is levied when the money is spent rather than handed over.

I am considering to move my kid to an independent school in the future. This is something that I need to think about.

Paying 3 years in advance is a lot of money, not sure if I can trust the school or any organization with that amount of money, even it is an independent organization.

I am also wondering if I pay several years of school fee in advance, does it mean I can't change school or ask for refund? If the school fee is considered "prepaid with a certain discount", what will the terms and conditions be?

Guess we will find out next year.

I saw this link too. Really wondering why international students cannot be exempted from this scheme if it really happens! Better get  as I saw all the news Labour Party has a high chance to win

呢幾年既英國寄宿學校加幅都已經唔細，4年前我仔讀果間算好平30000鎊一年，今年已經系40000鎊，我見Brighton College 去到63000，Wellington College 49000,Shrewsbury 48000，而家平均45000，出年去讀都要預5萬，加埋其他開支就60萬港幣一年走唔甩，系咪仲有甘多家庭負擔得起？如果再加2成真系執得。
你話一次交3年學費就一定唔會，點知會唔會轉校，一D保障都無。

呢個唔係新聞，講咗好耐。
呢個係稅務問題以及Policy問題。同Foreign student無關。
正常嚟講你係英國得到服務or consumed in the UK就要交稅。你可唔可以話去英國旅行食嘢跟住唔俾VAT.
英國的確有啲嘢係唔需要俾VAT eg food.

總之睇吓大選之後點。

其實大學學費，都加左唔少，好在英鎊平左幾年。

其實就算係local 學生而家學費都要十萬港幣一年，加上住宿及生活費，我覺得唔係大部份家庭可以負擔，如果再加兩成，最後都係得中產階層先讀得起大學。

本地人大都可以申請貸款，將來有工作才還款，所以都唔會有負擔問題。

英國本地學生只有1%嘅人讀寄宿，呢1%嘅人大把錢，唔洗同佢哋擔心
