This topic is interesting and shows how much respect one has on teachers, I am talking about those who worked hard to be a teacher, not just a teacher because they have no other job to do. I reallu don't understand why some people think that it is okay to pay a "TEACHER" $50 to $60 an hour.  Then how much should we pay a  part time cleaner? those who work at 7-11? Or if someone start questioning about your or your husband's ability on what you or he is doing and start to review your pay?  How do you feel?  As again,  sit back and think.  I never think I can be a teacher.  What kind of job doyou have that much of contact time with people?  How tired you think.  I think you should volunteer and work in a center for a lesson and you will find out.

跟你一樣，以前補習男孩的媽咪對我作為她兒子導師的尊重，令我到至今也『有樣學樣』。

I just hired a private tutor for my daughter at $100/hr which she has very good acamdemic result in HKCEE.  I did have trial class for one who got 27marks in HKCEE but her attitudes are terrible and rude to my daughter.  Besides, I did trail a girl who charged $50/hr but her quality was worst and I always find mistakes in my daughter's homework.  In conclusion, I believe "value for money".

Good tutors are expensive.  When I prepare my kids for IS we had a little group to start with and then I had private with the same teacher I paid $500 for the 1st child and 400 for the second child per hour.  I got results that all I wanted.
