Re: Female tutor wanted

No matter working as a part-time maid, tutor or managment trainee,he or she needs to pay the travelling fees or consider the time cost or basic needs.Seldom employer pays the money to the employee for her clothes, water or food because these are the basic preparation of the tutor. According to the HK law, if she is willing to sign a contract. I need to pay the MPF or even buy an insurance for her.
Now if a graduate from College of Education, she works in a primary school, how much she earns? I just express my viewpoint.I know that some tutors may charge a lot, some may charge less. I just point out the tutor who charges a lot, is unreasonable.Especially, compared with the teacher/IT in school, the tutor's charges in HK is generally higher when compared with the qualifications an job nature.
We all understand you are expressing your viewpoint. We are also express ours!! If so many people here saying that $50 per hour is too low for a private tutor, I think you should at least re-consider if you should pay more.
You should not compare the hourly rate of a full time employee to a private tutor. If you want a person to come to your place and serve only you child, of course you have to pay more. Don't forget the private tutor is teaching your child individually at a time and she/he may need to set up tailor-made teaching plan for your child. Don't you think this requires more work/effort and so deserves more salary?
Of course there may be some teachers who ask for unreasonably high salary but what we are saying here is: $50 is absolutely below the average market rate.
If you think the market price is not reasonable, then just insist paying $50. You may still get someone who is willing to work for you but she/he may not pay 100% effort. The choice is yours. |
