St. Mary vs. St. Stephen Girls Primary - which one should I choose?

Hi,

I'm an old girl of St. Stephen's Girls' Primary so my daugther has 20 marks. I also like her to get into St. Mary (as I live on the Kowloon side) and she also has 20 marks. She will study SC this coming Sept (K1).

If you were me, how would you choose?

Do you think the chance of getting in St. Mary with 20 marks and in the same net (via lucky draw) is good?

If your girl will have 20 marks for St. Mary, that means she is Catholic.  Right?  If so, she should get 25 marks for St. Stephen's Girls' Primary, because old girl has 10 marks, right age 10 marks, Catholic 5 marks.  

With 25 marks, she should be able to get the seat in 1st round.  With 20 marks for St. Mary, she may need to join the lucky draw in 1st round for all those, who also get 20 marks.  

Therefore, the question should be : Do you want to play it safe or take the risk?

My girl only get 20 marks at St. Stephen's Girls' Primary as she is Catholic, not Christian. So no mark on the religion.

Or can I still get the 5 mark for St. Stephen's even if my daughter is Catholic, not Christian?

宗教- St. Mary's 佔優，學校跟家庭相同宗教，可免日後家庭成員持不同宗教見解之分歧

派位機會- St. Mary's 佔優，SSGPS 一級只得3班，每班三十幾人，20分抽中機會不及St. Mary's 20 分大

一條龍︰ St. Mary's 佔優，因為佢地中小已接龍，而SSGPS 未公報會否接龍

以上分析，如果我係你會選St. Mary's

No, SSGPS 只承認聖公會之領洗証明，
其他基督教派之証明一律不接受。

Sorry, I don't know St. Stephen is a Christian school.  Then, your girl can only have 20 marks as you stated.

Since both with 20 marks, of course choose the one in the same net.  That's St. Mary. 麟媽媽分析得很詳細, 答案很明顯嘛！

You can't think of too much regarding chances, because the factors are different every year.  Nobody can tell you if you will have high chance or not with 20 marks.  It is all depends on the number of applicants and the marks they have.
