Hi akloymmito,

At logos, its curriculum is divided into 3 stages, namely Foundation Stage (FS), Development Stage (DS) and Mastery Stage.  FS is the first stage, followed by DS, then Mastery Stage.  2 years for FS, 5 years for DS, and 4 years for Mastery Stage.  As it takes 11 years to complete the curriculum, instead of using Primary One or Form One, etc, logos use "the short-form of various stage + year".

FS1 stands for Foundation Stage first year.

Hello infosally,

Since Logos doesn't have any linked kindergarten, therefore you don't need to target kindergartens that can enhance the chance of getting into Logos. Just go to find a suitable one for you kid is OK.

The 容閎之旅 seems very fruitful.  Not only an opportunity for City Kids to learn independence, but also enhance their explosure..... Good!!!

Dear qq_dad & all,

最後版本：小兒原來在第一日跟我在浴室話別後，曾兩眼含淚，之後在當晚上床後亦一度『喊了少少』。不過之後便沒有再傷感了，原因是營中生活『好開心，很好玩』，(連爸爸媽媽也不記掛了)！？

據他所說，他每晚都在九時便睡覺，每早都在六時許便睡醒並自己起床梳洗集隊早操早餐，他很喜歡這些有規律的生活，又喜歡學校的膳食、更強調自己每餐都將蔬菜全吃掉。日間學習之餘，又認識了很多新朋友 (他通常都稱呼同窗為朋友的)，加上每天都有球類活動時間，所以他感到很愉快，亦希望以後都可以繼續參加學校夏令營哩！事實上，他能保持房間整潔，在離營前夕將所攜行理全部收拾妥當，並且沒有損缺哩！   :wink:

Dear KenBaBa, qq_dad and all,
My girl also enjoyed the camp. She believed the best thing to remember was that she had a chance to perform on stage (she joined the dance class) last Sat.   
With no experience of any sort in “dance”, she was able to get a taste of it and felt what's like on stage with her peers and had all the fun she could get.  She quoted some of her “.....st”
- happiest thing - - the fun of team work
- most enjoyable course - - dance
- teacher she admired most - - Mr. Cao
- tastiest food - - sweet & sour pork and vegetables (she also emphasized that the milk was delicious too!)
- worst experience - - homesickness (first 2 days)
- greatest value learnt - - value of life (her classmates caught some gold fish but the fish died at the end because they were not put back to the fish ponds. Whereas, the fish would have survived if they were returned to nature where they belonged.)
- best achieved - - responsibility, caring for others

          

She mentioned that she would definitely participate again next summer!!

在這次的容閎之旅中讓我們做父母的有以下感受:

感謝: 1)真道給孩子們一個獨立自理的機會;2)老師和家長義工們的愛心照顧;家長會很妥善的行程和交通等安排..........

驕傲: 知道孩子在這一星期中能依時間表自己起床,收拾床鋪,綁頭髪,洗澡,收拾行李等,我們真因她感到驕傲.

家長愛而不溺: 看到真道的家長們對孩子們留在容閎要自己照顧自己雖然心裏擔心

孩子們有時會跟我去釣魚、到郊外或公園去找昆蟲觀看、又曾飼養獨角仙及自來金龜(有一年多達十多隻)，學懂了對生命之尊重，故此除了要食用之魚穫之外，一概都會放生；雨後見到蝸牛、鼻涕蟲、蚯蚓等爬到地面，我們都會將牠們撿拾起來放到泥土草地上。除了蟑螂及家居中發現的衣魚、蚊蠅及蜘蛛等害蟲以外，我們都應網開一面。小兒喜孜孜的告訴我，他撈獲兩尾小金魚，我第一個反應就是問他有無放生？他亦很高興的告訴我早已放生了，令我不禁鬆了口氣！

餘下的八月，小兒除了例行的每周一課的樂器班、公文數及塗鴉班及四個屋苑會所安排的暑期參觀活動外，最多再加兩日一夜一家人大陸行(正在籌劃中)，便不會再有甚麼特別節目了。餘下的日子，除了工餘有空時會與他到圖書館、打打羽毛球、乒乓球等之外，真希望他能自發多看書籍、用心溫習！

City Plaza is having "Harbin Ice Lantern Festival".  The entry fee is for donation.  Seems a good event for family.

校長只說不會要求同學在暑假期間考編班試，但沒有說過是否取消編班試，校內（老師或行政人員）亦未有人提及此問題。老師們"估計"(只是估計)可能性有二:

1. 按同學FS2成績編班
2. 開學後才在term 1考編班試,因去年也是在term2才分班的

親友老師說校長不鼓勵家長助同學溫習應付分班試，但他絕不應同，因為他經驗所得學習能力高的班別跟其他班別的學習氣氛很不同，教的東西亦多些深入些。親友老師說編班試只考中英數三科。>>


Dear logosteacher,
The overall standard of this year's FS2 should be relatively higher since the school has been more selective among the applicants. Will our principal consider "guess" (1) to simplify the process to avoid additional manpower allocated to the special exam in Sept.? Besides, this will give parents less pressure towards the kids especially when the month of Sept. is normally the honeymoon month after summer vacation. Performance may vary.
