We are waitlisted. Anyone knows if this is a real waitlist or do all applicants fall into this pool if they are not successful at the first instance?

yes, the waiting pool is real as my son had received an rejected letter before!

There are rejected list for sure.
If for prep years or lower, the chance of getting in from waitlisted is really depend.

For higher grade, the chance of getting in is higher

Yes, my son has failed the assessment of reception and applied again in Prep. He got an offer for last year.

Don’t feel disappointed.  We were waitlisted and then called during our Chinese new year holiday.  Be prepared and don’t miss the call.  We were asked whether we would accept the offer and must reply in the same day.  Then we received the offer letter.  

Don’t give up and be positive.  Good luck.  CDNIS is really a good school.
