spelling book 都係 last week 至開始, every week 10 words, 響 friday 串字, 亞女話, class teacher read the words, she wrote them down on a piece of paper (我估好有可以能係1對1做, actually我都not too sure)
個list 有乜字, 今晚我睇番再話妳知, heehee, i forgot half of them

至於reading journal, 一開學就有, 我又係估 (class teacher會1對1去試下係地的english level, 然後arrange個小朋友 is which level)

everyday, 只可以choose佢地個level的story book回家read, 久不久, 個teacher又會test下佢地的進度, 睇下upgrade or not (開學時我個女係level 8, 跟住9, 突然jump左去13, until now係level 14)

My girl’s level is 19.  Her class teacher taught me to ask her questions after reading.  That’s the purpose of home reading.

Dearest ESF parents,
Hi! this is ashleymama. I'm not yet a ESF mama but hopefully would be as my daughter will be eligible to apply in this Sept. Ideal school is SJS since we live in NT. After reading all of your opinions here, I've found real picture of ESF schools. So glad to have the chance reading all of these. I have a few questions and hope you would share your valuable experiences with me:
1) For SJS parents (ManManMa, Cherylmum, and alexlui) do your child all attended ESF kinder in order to get into SJS? if not so, which kinder may have better chance? (my daughter is in Anchors(Tai Po))
2) Any important experiences/idea of the interview for SJS?

Hi Ashleymama,

My daughter studied in Yew Chung kinder before she get into SJS.  According to the teacher, most of the students studied in ESF kinder, Yew Chung, St. Cat. SIS etc.

For interview, your daughter need to express herself well in English.

My daughter can express herself well in English. She recognises all the letters when she was just one. She can read books when she was two. The teacher at Anfield playgroup was also impressed of that. Now she can read eng books of primary 4/5. I hire an eng native to polish her oral twice a week. She is now in Anchors Kinder Int'l Section K1. As I heard, some students (about 20-30%) of this knider have accepted by SJS last year. However, as I know, i do not fall into the 3 preferences: sibling, foreign passport holding nor ESF kinder. I am so worry......I want to transfer my daughter to ESF Tsing Yi K2 but don't know if possible to do so.... any ideas?

My son had been studying in Creative Primary School's Kindergarten before being admitted to SJS.  I don't know the real reasons why they chose my son.  The deputy principle said my son has a logical mind. I guess:

1. Watching Magic School Bus videos and books may help.  The series is about science.

2. Always explain to my son how and why of every things he has encountered.

3. Attend courses organised by ESF's ESD Services Ltd. may help.  If you choose SJS as the study centre, your daughter will go there once in a week.  She will become familiar with the campus and she will like it.  At the day of the interview, she will perform well.

I didn't ask them why they chose my son, so all the above are just speculations.  

The new ESF Ma On Shan School seems to be very nice, you may browse the web page pis.esf.edu.hk to get more information.

My son is borned in Jun 2002. He is holding Auz passport. I have submitted the application form in Jun 2004 in person. I still haven't received any notification. What should I do?

Contact the school secretary, she will tell you your position in the waiting list.

According to some BK Ma, the admission policy was changed. Some BK Ma said they did not have a interview chance.

"I am so worry......I want to transfer my daughter to ESF Tsing Yi K2 but don't know if possible to do so.... any ideas?"

If I was you, I may call ESF kinder.

Does anyone know If a child was a 資優兒童, especially in the area of language(eng), would it be helpful to apply ESF kinder / schools?

After communicating with the class teacher through home school diary, I found that the real reading level is not equal to the level labelled on the books your child borrowed from SJS.  Your child can borrow any book they want.  The real reading level is graded by assessment.  You should ask your daughter's class teacher.
