Yes, the common interest for everyone is to get a university education. I still don't see what is fair about your proposal. What is the fairness in asking different local students to pay different tuition?

幾個朋友家人的故事：
舊制(中學高考)入港大醫學院,玩一年不喜歡,往英國读另外一科。
NJ入港大Econ讀一年,不喜歡，回去加國再读。

不是人人惜愛本地大學的機會.也就是說有插班機會.

Local U do not just look at your AL results. They will consider which school you come from and your past performance in school to predict your standard. If you have completed F6 and done badly in DSE, it will make your profolio even worse. If you have no confidence in DSE, simply leave earlier and find a good high school in UK.

Those successful cases are students from top UK high school or local elite schools. There may be exceptional cases but I guess not many. One thing for sure is universities will look at your overall performance, past records and potential rather than just one exam results. This is what make NJ not a easy route to go.

讀唔成書先去英國讀？以前讀唔成書我感覺較多去加拿大澳洲。英國以前係好嚴謹下。而且環境改變了，有些學生係會讀書專心左，不排除之後AL會好左。GCEAL 係中文數學較淺，但文科英文不會比DSE淺。況且現在DSE maths core 只有以前CE add maths 程度，我覺得考DSE 分分比考IB 更易。

讀唔成書去加拿大,澳洲,英國讀都有. 但去了加拿大,澳洲好少返香港讀, 去了英國讀AL, 好多都係英國讀U, 但如果香港的U收, 好多都係香港讀. 尤其係公務員子女, 係英國讀中學才有資助.

GCE 好多科都較 HKAL 易攞高grade.

DSE maths core 無 CE add maths 程度

先不談論䜖 IB, GCE A Level 或 DSE 整體學生的質素誰高誰低。客觀數據是GCE A Level 取A** 的百分率是超高。

今天HKU Faculty of Law 的 admission talk, 系主任陳文敏教授直言 GCE A Level 的 A** 數量是 inflated ! 所以學系收 GCE 學生會小心些，亦不諱言會優先考慮 IB 學生。

History is history....

You still consider HKDSE = HKALE, if DSE standard is down cf HKALE, IB and GCE ALE maintain the standard ...... your conclusion may be wrong.
DSE top students can go to UK top or 2nd and 3rd tiers Us, but mediocre students may go for foundation year only .......

I have never considered HKDSE = HKAL. I also agree that DSE top students can go to UK top or 2nd tiers Us, but mediocre students may go for foundation year only. However, I believe many DSE mediocre students, if taking GCE AL, can go to 2nd or 3rd tiers UK Us.
