SJC vs hkps

My son is studying K1 at sjc.  He adjusted well in the school. I also satisfied the school's academic performance despite there had no na teacher. Though sjc had primary school, the standard was doubtful.  Now, my son got an international class at hkps. I did not konw how to choose.  Many people said it was very difficult to get an offer at hkps and suggested me to change school for my son. I still struggling. Any parents who had children studying in hkps could share with me?

Hkps k1的確難入，佢地k1有120個位但pn直上學生已有80人，所以得40個位收街外學生，你仔仔考到確實叻！可以分享下interview考乜嗎？你仔仔係咪大b?

SJC = St. Johannes College 天主教聖若望英文書院
在九龍塘, 其實都好近HKPS, KG 由PN 到K3, 仲有小學部, 不過冇中學

樓主, 你仔仔係細Ｂ讀SJC K1, HKPS 收今年九月K1做超大Ｂ？入HKPS就要repeat K1?

如果比較兩間學校KG, 我會選HKPS, HKPS language & presentation 都好好, 教學手法好似活潑D
SJC 雖有小學, 沒有中學, 不算龍校, 好似係比較傳統的KG

但如要repeat K1, 又在別論, 雖要考慮你target  甚麼小學, 如想入官津學校, 在SJC又讀得好, 絶對係一動不如一靜, 更不用repeat K1.  但如心儀直資私小, 咁可能轉去HKPS做超大B有少少優勢

不過, 仔仔考到HKPS, 証明佢係smart 的, 過幾年考小學, 大細仔的difference 會拉近, 也沒有人保証入HKPS 會考到好學校

多謝你的意見ｏ其實，我個仔一定要重讀因為他是提早升K.1.就算在SJC他仍要重讀。

My little two kids are now studying at HKPS.  The teachers are nice and the English standard is good.  They enjoy school life a lot.  However I do not see HKPS' student has any advantage in applying for private and DSS schools, at least for this year.  Quite a number of the students could not get a place in any DSS or private schools this year.  Competition is very keen this year and I think it will be more and more competitive to get a place in elite schools.

如果點都要repeat, 就轉去HKPS 啦! 好過在原校repeat, 雖然小朋友還細, 但佢都會覺得點解同學都升班, 佢就仲係讀K1 .

To be fair, sjc's oral, phonics and math are all good especially math. At k.2, sjc use p.1 math book. However, sjc's pth is fair only. If my son continue to study in sjc, i have to arrange extra lesson for him.  In fact, i love this two schools. So, i don't know how to choose.
