Starting from now on, the teacher has not given any clue on the dictation like last week, with5 words only, my girl told that she needs to read the full chapter for dictation this time.

let's see what happened then, I have a bit worry on her Chinese writing, but her motivation was high, she said that she can do it by herself, that's a good girl.. I am happy she has this good motivation and good learning attitudes..

Yes, i think the purpose to have the dictation is to let the kids to build a habit to review what they learn...  I was happy that it was not a battle between my son and myself when I asked him to review the words he's been learned... and he was being very good when I was helping him to take the dictation at home.

As far as I understand, they are only requested to dictate the 5 words indicated in the 小小書法家 for every chapter. The timing is 3 days after they finish the exercise in 小小書法家. Hence this week they should dictate 山 雨 花 草 紅.

thanks, I did not realize that. your teacher write in your handbook on that specific words? The first week, they write the 5 words in the handbook, this week, they didn't, so both me and the kid thought that we should have the whole chapter prepared for dictation..

今日派了學生証，老師說每天都要放在書包裏帶回學校。

My son said it can be used as a library card and they should carry it in bag everyday. I am a bit worried that he will lost the card.

Just received the notice in handbook today that they are requested to spell 20 English words per week and will have a quiz in the following week. Although the words are quite simple but it is more than I expected. What do you think?

hi parents,
can you "decode" the short form written in the student journal?  i'm quite confused when following through each homework with my kid.  i doubted if kids could fully understand each short form (e.g. W.S, 明大(二), 大簽改) and be able to explain the terms to their parents.  any feedback to share?

Yes, quite a headache in identifying what are the short-forms, my daughter guess and I guess everyday.

I have not seen 明大(二), 大簽改), but WS is usually related to Maths work sheet.

Hi CM Pang,

I have joined PTA, no knowing much about it as my daughter is not from the Creative kindergarten.
I agree with you, the forum is not active of this school, we hope more parents will share their resources or questions at this forum.

If you want to know more parents, you can find them every morning at the frontdoor of the school, some of them have regular morning breakfast meetings at Kowloon City market place..I did join them once and they know a lot about this school.

Not much P1 parents, most are P4 & 5 parents.

Which class you kid is in? My son is in 1A4 and I have seen 明大(二), 大簽改 in his handbook. I guess 明大(二) means 明天大挑戰第二課, 即係中文默書第二課. 大簽改即係上次大挑戰要改正同家長簽名. I also has headache in decoding the short form in handbook. I ask my son to ask the teacher if he can't understand the short form. Hope he can do it.

BTW, anyone knows what '我心(三)' mean? My son draws a heart shape after 我 instead of write the word 心. This is from last Friday handbook but we don't know what that means so we skipped. Yesterday 手冊寫住要補交.

我未見過明大同大簽改，我會跟住科目分，咁樣會容易明白d，同埋有時會cross check埋網上的內聯網，裏面有個課室日誌，果度由老師寫，有時會清楚一點點，不過就好似唔係每樣功課都有，因為阿仔手冊寫旣多過網上老師寫既。

同埋尋曰阿仔手冊好似無note話要串二十個英文生字，會唔會班班做法不同？

太好了，至少有一年級和同班的媽媽一起參加。我想我很難參加其他媽媽的早餐會，因為我要湊細仔，半年前炒咗工人，請了中點ee幫手，所以都是依靠上網接收學校資訊，幸好有這個forum，大家可以多點交流。

I actually send out internal mails to all P1 parents on this forum, but I think most of them will not check email through the school system...

社會與科學課：今晚陪兒子完成“社會與科學”一課的作業。功課是“收集關於團體的圖片”。。哇，真的好抽象！！兒子嘴裡又講不出具體內容，他只想找他自己感興趣的“團體”照片。。最後我按上週收到的學科進度上的註解，同他一起收羅了“世界各地學校的圖片”。。。
