音小 vs 優才

哈~ GT 唔收, 所以冇得揀...

我覺得都要睇番自己個小朋友適合邊類型學校, 始終呢兩間學校好唔同, ICQM 好重宗教及音樂, 而GT 就新類型學校。

不過, 以我自己偏向, 都係ICQM, 因為我個仔勁鍾意彈琴, 同埋我自己偏向基督教學校。

如果真係最後得兩個offer, 我會pick 音小.  主要都係GT 位置問題, 想小朋友返校無咁辛苦最小要搬一次, 讀ICQM 搬一次就可解決13年的周居勞動; 如住TKO又想方便, EC, 陸慶濤及真道亦不錯的選擇(一樣有中學, 而且有宗教背景, 品德教育會多D) 講到中學成績我諗大家都差唔多.  

講返正題, 香港好現實, 就算讀唔到書有門手藝一樣搵到食.  我選ICQM.

if only two schools, I would choose icqm. I like the religious background and also the teachers are very presentable and even during the parents interview in icqm, the teacher (maybe we got lucky) can tell us in details how they teach children.
But, bear in mind, icqm is very religious, so you need to see if you can accept that. The teachers also expect the children to become Christian sooner or later (that's what the teacher who I talked to during the interview). See if you accept that. For me, I admire their frankness to tell me the truth.

我們2間都有offer, 我暫時選優材, 因為音小有朋友讀,  校舍等好, 但學術比較淺, 而音樂亦非我們想自己孩子唯一強的頂目,  同埋考慮中學上大學的path, 似乎優才可能比較多元化些.. 不是音小不好, 只是相對優才看來暫時比較合我們自己.
優才理念是資優教學, 但我相信不可能個個入去的都是資優 + 不需教,  反而資優的學生應如何教才是大學問,  如果最後入讀, 在內面保持不落後可能亦算是一個挑戰, 此些在每一間學校都會有的.   另一方面所謂有"保底" 的學校的真相有幾多人知, 尤其在香港, 資源不足, 保底工作通常是父母做, 學校幫得了多少成問題..  
當然資不資優,  好多人都會考埋 DBS, YW,  我們都會, 反而 LS 是抽的, 不是話考就考..

If your kid is average, choose ICQM.

Not because GT is better. Because there is another thread in BK that mentions the pain about a mother trying to change the school for her kid away from GT because GT does not prefer kids that do not meet their standard and wants the kid to leave school...

The problem is we never know our kids potential in this early stage.  And even IQ can't be change (it is inborn mainly by the research), but one's potential can be developed in many areas including language ability, art ability etc.  Therefore the most important issue here should be how to match a school which  provides more opportunities for our kids to develop I think...
