請培正媽媽解答- working mom適合選培正嗎？

有幸培正收了小兒，而我是一名working mom，但我見由報名問始至註冊都是平日數小時內，是不是她期望學生的母親是全職母親？
此外，很想知她的開學日會在九月一日，還是會在之前一、兩日練習返學的呢？

My son is now in Primary 5 and he was graduated from PC kindergarten. Recollecting the days when he was in PC, I have been a working mum. Frankly, feeling quite easy for his studies as really NOT too much homework, just drawing lines, dots, colouring in K1, K2 is for some simple Chinese words and A to Z while in K3, some more difficult Chinese/English words and sentences.

Tests or Exams are not frequent, but in K3 will be a bit more, however, still not difficult to handle.

From my memory, I remembered K1 needs to go to school in the last week of August.

Kindergarten is quite easy to go through, while your children go to primary school, you will know the workload....

其實我份工的工作時間很長，很難請假的，所以才問的。其實我正考慮唔做，但經濟方面......

As both of my husband and I are not civil servants and actually we have 3 children now, we made up our mind to let our elder son study in government-aided primary school rather than staying in PC even though admittedly PC is a good traditional school.

Anyway, you may need to consider more IN THE LONG RUN like if you will let your child study in PC secondary school as we also opine that we can have more choices in the secondary school selection if we study in other primary school. If you may not do so, then PC kindergarten may not a good choice for your child.

In our case, now my son is in tops at his school and we are quite sure that he can go to band one secondary school by central allocation. As seems, this is the way how we pave for our child.

Therefore, my younger daughter did not apply for PC this year, I'd rather release the chance to others.

Personally speaking, I opine that pre-primary studies are really easy to handle except you wanna your child will have primary level after kindergarten graudation.

Primary studies are more difficult to handle, like the workload of homework is really tough for working mother like me.  Frankly speaking, I nearly spend all my time on my elder son's studies but less catering on the learning of my 0803 daughter. Of course, she is just in nursery level.... :)

could you pls share more about the English & Chinese curriculum of PC primary school ?
Would PC use Putonghua as media of instruction for teaching Chinese-related subjects ?
How about the languages of books used for subjects other than Chinese ? Are they English or Chinese ?

I am sorry that my son had moved to other government-aided school after graudation from PC kindergarten, but I remembered that I had ever read the book list for primary one of PC.

I found out that that they use English story books for teaching English, it means students will have no textbooks like many schools.

For Chinese, Mathematics and General Studies, they use textbooks and the medium of teaching in Chinese like most of the primary schools in HK.

Comparing the book lists with my son's primary school, I found just more or less the same, that's also one of the reasons why we deciced to quit from PC primary school.

In any event, some years has been lapsed, there may be changes but definitely PC is still a traditional school.
