This comments are not only related to LOGO, but related to all DSS schools...
I have two kids going through the P1 interviews in the past few years and all to DSS schools and I observed:
1) some "leaders" were really good in their presentations (say, consistent, genuine and understand or admit their own limitations)
2) some "leaders (e.g. principal, usually presented in seminer)" seemed to be presentable, seemed to have great "missions", seemed to be very "loving" and with great "visions" or "professional in education"
BUT.... you will see the inconsistencies in their "resentations in Admission Seminar" and the "Realities of P 1 admission interview process"
3) Give some examples that I do think is "unethical" in their practice or "inconsistencies"
a) "Loving" principal avoid to admit the "administration mistakes" e.g. releasing of results before the completion of interview process and telling "lies" on their administrative incompencies....
b) "Elite" types of principal was selling his books at the interview day and their staff was encouraging the parents who were waiting for their kids to buy the book and asked the principal to sign the book...
c) "Visionable" type of principal was selling their vision by not revealing the uncertainties or realities of IB curriculum to their "die hard fans" - there was no obvious lies, but concealing or keeping silence may be fatal as well!!
d) "Loving and caring principal" did not stopped unfair admission procedures, even encouraging "discriminative knocking door" practices to fulfill his own "pride" or "ignorance"
What do you think....do you think these leaders needs training in "educational ethics" or "self-understanding" courses again???? So that they are more aware of themselves; more aware that they "mission" and "vision" or "love and caring hearts" does not help, but also damaging their school reputations as well as damaging the parents and students...
The AD is no right to audit those 38 schools (If my memory is correct, should be less than 38), not the problem of the school. According to the report, the EDB didn't put in the item in the agreement between the EDB and the education institution. It's the mess of EDB.
