小兒現是培正生，剛收到St Paul College(Boy)信收了他。唔知與培正中學比較，哪一間學業水平高些? 有不同朋友及網友都有不同評語...

我是培正校友，培正的數理比較好，若果兒子數理較好，最好讀培正，反正都是用英文書，考公開試也可答英文卷！

多謝你們的資料及意見，小兒數及常也是較為突出，我考慮SPC因是全EMI，好似連PE都用英語。

另聽說培中近幾年轉了新校長，他比較著英文，上年開始更由F.1加入英國文學，而整體成績也是上升中---哪...培正英文水準是否真的不錯?

我20多年前讀培正個時英文比較差，大部份人都在外面補英文，現在可能好很多了，不然大把人想入都入不到，兩間都是傳統名校，確難選擇，培正的會考成績可以上網查到，但另一間好像沒有公佈，能比較一下就知所選擇！

培正上年英文科合格率99.2%, 優良率45.8%. 中文科合格率97%, 優良率43.6%. 整體優良率48.5%, 相當於band1中既成績, 估計6科14分應該大約在65%-70%.

聖保羅既周年報告, 提到中六有80%由本校生升上, 約46.7%. 如果根據中六第一階段收生剩13個位推算, 則大約50.6%. 但學校去海外升中既考生都唔少, 所以6科14分應該唔此呢個數, 不過都係band1尾咁上下. 我認為培正既成績較好.

我認為2間學校都冇問題，主要睇學生自己有冇上進心。
我有個舊鄰居的女兒在培正由幼稚園讀至中六，前年中五會考8A2B,中英都是5*，中六後經拔尖入了港大讀醫。
證明只要肯讀，無論讀那一間都有出頭天的。

If I were you, I'll choose Pui Ching as the relationship between the kids are so tight.  Another question:  Do you know if many students got good marks (more than 90) in the lastest 報分試 ?  It seems that many of the students score very high marks this time.  I'm a bit worried that  my kid's ranking will drop this time although I'm very contented with the test result this time.

I don't know whether it's too late to give you this information. Actually, I have already read a discussion forum and there was a St Paul's College student who wanted to seek some information about overseas studying. According to what he said (the question was posted on Feb 2009), his school students 100% passed in HKCEE English subject in past 5 consecutive years. So I do think the English standard of St Paul's college is relatively high.The school is so low profile and few  know that it's  nice performance.

Thank you everyone for your good sharings which really help us a lot. Appreciation X1000 :)
I do have a deep thinking & discussion with my son. This process is really precious. Hope he can enjoy the school life in his next stage. Sometimes, I'm thinking having a son in primary is really nice...but I have to learn to let go in his secondary...he should learn to be more & more independent.

I asked my sons about the lastest 報分試, but he told me that teachers only showed students their own papers (for checking), but didn't mentioned about the results of others (overall marks). For my son, I found his mark in Chinese subject is a lot higher than the last 2 報分試...is it because this paper is easier??
What other subjects did you find other students got gd marks?

My son also grow up a lot after this exam and it's good for him to know that life is full of pressure and challenges.   I also think that parent's suppport is very important.  Hope that you'll make a good choice!     Just one more little comment, Pui Ching has great connection around the world, it would be good for our kids.  For  報分試 , my son said the students score high marks in Chinese and Maths but as you said teacher didn't mention the other results.    Hope to know the final ranking asap.
