Are you old girl of SHCSPS or SHCS?  If you are old girl of SHCS, then definitely no problem to get in SHCS P1.

so sorry to hear that...  may be wait for the letter and see if wait-listed.  You can still try to write to the principal if really sincere about SHCK.

I graduated from SH Kinder & SHCS.  I have 20 marks but do I really have high chance to get P.1 place. My friend is an old girl of 天神小學 (primary school of St. Mary) and her girl could not get a place there although she is accepted by DGS finally.

Hi Elsat,

The problem with Holy Angel is because it is a complete one-dragon with St. Mary's Canossian College so it is way more competitive.

For the case of SHCS, 20 points should be enough to secure a place based on past experience due to the large intakes and also there is SHCSPS for those who prefer am classes.

Please don't feel disappointed for not being accepted for the first round at SHCK.  This tells a very important point.  This is a kindergarten which is extremely fair as the first round was purely based on interview performance.  So the "preferences" are not being considered in the first round.  I have known children with even stronger connections/ recommendations but still cannot be accepted the first round.  You may still write to the principal and see if can be admitted later.

As others commented, after the release of SPK results, there will be some vacancies.  However, this year is a bit different since the SHCK result is released before SPK interview.  So, not sure if some parents will give up interviewing for SPK but shouldn't be much I guess.

My daugther was being rejected.
However, she did very very well in the interview.
she answered all the questions very fast & accurately.  Athough, the teacher just given very brief description by tell her jump & get the big cup.  She know how to jumped like a rabbit to get the right cup & then looked at her and wondering whether she need to jump back or simply walk back.  The teacher told her just walk back then okay.  The during was less than 3 mins.
I am very disappointed.

各位好,

我大女係今年聖心k2 am  學生, 有 d 野可以同大家 share 下

1) 我細女係 0711, 今年都有apply, 結果係唔收的, 真係好失望, 女女當日表現都好妹, 祇是初入班房時要ler 出房找家姐, 後來什麼都做到老師要求 , 不過 現在未收到信, 唔知會唔會是 waiiting list... 真係好希望誠意打動到 學校啦

同時, 我都知有好幾位家長都是有大女 讀緊 k2, 細女apply coming 9 月的 k1, 都是唔收 ...

所以, 今年 真係好大competition. 同時,  prove 咗一樣野就係 有家姐讀, 不是一定收妹妹/細佬.

2) 學校祇提供港島線校車,

我住九龍東的, 大女k1 時, 是在 北角上校車, 約 7:50am 上車, 12:45 pm 下車  
今年 k2, 是搭街車 (即保姆車) 來回

希望幫到大家.

其實, 妳的心態同我一樣, 應是 "家姐要為妹妹開路", 咁就 secure 好多 ....

咁大坑真光都不失為一間好的學校, 不過妳係先要 肯定 是否家姐讀一定收妹妹呢樣野囉

有樣野, 我都可以 同妳 分享下, 就是, 我大女係 0501, 細女係 0711, 兩次 經驗過我知, 年尾 女係  interview 上真係 相對地輸蝕,  長女 apply 兩歲班, 間間都收 am, 次女  in 了 兩間, 兩間都唔收, 就算之後有一間收, 都祇是 pm 班, 不是我的 first priority am .

同時, 07年(妹妹) 出生率已多過05 年, competition 已多了很多 , 家姐現在行的路可否幫一把 , hehe

同埋, 妳要唸多 一點, kinder 家姐開路, 小學才是最重要呢. 因為家姐讀 的津貼小學,一定會收妹妹. 但係真光小學不是津貼呢..

Hi kiteli,

I am sorry to hear that your young one is not being offered.  Unfortunately, the competition is amazingly keen and if preferences are given to those with elder siblings and children of old girls, there is a high chance only these children can be accepted and no one outside can be offered!  It is really crazy this year and worry of next year too as I also have a young one!

However, as your elder daughter is already studying there and you should know how this kindergarten is, and know Sister Kwok is a very nice and kind educator.  I believe if you are sincere about sending your young one in, should still have chance.  But the issue this year really is, too much competition......

Although my young one is not small B, but she behaves like a small B (exact opposite of her elder sister being small B but act like big B).  So, I still have 1 year to train her up and I started to get worry now :(

Yes, originally I planned another kindergarten for my young one but as my elder daughter is studying at SHCK already, I do feel it is good for the two of them to go to the same kindergarten.

I guess in my case, the young one actually affected my elder one more and she become more baby bor!  Just worry if competition remain that high, whether SHCSPS still have enough places for all the SHCK girls few years later......  more worries....

I am sorry but dunno how many children are placed in waiting list this year.

For them to be contacted, usually are based on the few phases of registration and some people don't show up.  The kindergarten normally will call those being offered within a week or two as places are open.
