Agreed. My daughter is now studying K2 at SC and I am also a working mom. I am generally satisifed with her progress. Her inititative is not consistent. In recent month, I need to ask her to do the homework. While she is sometimes lazy, I will not push her but remind her that she cannot submit homework to her class teacher, then she will sit down and finish it properly. I think, to certain extent, she understands that doing homework is her responsibility. Besides, she loves reading very much. She always asks me to read story books with her and do the revisions with her after finishing the homework. For discipline, in my view, the school is not very stringent. The kids are quite active and outgoing. My daughter is sometimes 'naughty' especially in front of me. She has her own ideas and creative thinking. If you are looking for good results, parents' involvement cannot be missed. They have quite a lot of revisions and assessments starting from K2. From time to time, they also request parents to prepare something for the kids to bring back school, e.g, show and tell, news sharing and story-telling. So demanding or not depends on what you expect. That's only my personal opinion.
