我去左佢地8月23日個個簡介會, 我個日交form就立即比埋 interview 個日期我啦.. 佢地一見岩就收唔會等到見晒先再去睇下收邊個學生所以你想報收好快 d 入 form 申請, 個日我女女去見都有好多小孩去見呀 ...
我都好緊張唔知女女得唔得呢..

你緊張,小朋友也會緊張的,放鬆心情吧.
我想不要太計較是不是被取錄,就這樣跟孩子一起去面對一些事,一起成長,其實已經獲益不少的了.
我昨天交了表,下星期一面試.平常心,真的!

我睇完家長報料, 我對呢間學校都有興趣. 因為我都想培養個女係英語環境讀書返學.

我睇佢收生網頁講, 話唔受政府派位限制, 咁意思係咪即係話, 就算收左, 都可以繼續去參加自行分配學位呢? 呢個問題都幾重要.......

因這是一間直資學校,如學校取錄了,而你又決定入讀此校,就必須放棄政府派位

而至於你所說 : 學校網頁講, 話唔受政府派位限制,
是指任何人事都可申請,沒有校網限制,因此校是以INTERVIEW 來取錄學生,

咁如果我想報定一兩間做後備, 又想參加政府自行分配學位, 咁就只可以報私校係咪?

係所有直資學校都係咁,因它們是受政府資助的,以我記憶是沒有一間直資是有例外的,

如果想報學校作後備,只可以報私校,但之前在其它人的討論上見到好似有些私校是取錄了,都會要求你放棄統一派位,
但邊間就唔記得.

我知有!! 原來 st paul's (銅鑼灣果間) 係可以既. 即使佢收左你, 都仲可以去攪珠.

第一輪面試不用見家長，家長要填一頁紙的問卷，第二輪面試才要見家長。

我帶個女去面試當日，剛剛有兩班中學生在校務處外面排隊，以我所見，所有學生都是用廣東話對話的，沒有一個用英語。

難怪簡介會時，校長都說希望多收英語好或是以英語為母語的學生，這樣才真正可以製造英語環境。

As you have correctly pointed out those are the secondary pupil and not primary pupil. Majority of the lower primary pupil speaks very good English, and around 30% (my guess) of primary entrance pupil are naive english speakers. Plus the english speaking enviranonment of the school improves the pupil's English standard greatly. I am sure SMCE parents agree with this.

There are lots of info about SMCE in this space, including language level of SMCE pupil. If you are serious about sending your kid to SMC, I suggest you should understand more about it.

My son was 08/09 admittance to P1, and back then :

2nd in - parent / parents only. But understand from a friend who's son attended this year's interview and learnt from this space that the child need to attend the 2nd in as well

Personally, I think the portfolio would help the school to understand your son more

Hi ANC,

My son is now in P1.  He enjoys his school life a lot so far.

He has picked up a lot of new English words in the last 1.5 months.  And he has to talk to teachers in English (even in Music, Visual Arts, or PE class).  I think he still talks to his classmates in Chinese but I saw some other pupils (they look like P3-4), they talk to each other in English..

For modern language, in P1 & P2, they get to learn all 3 of them (French, Spanish, Japanese, one language per term) so they can have a taste as to what they like.  In P3, they will have to pick one and focus on that.

So far the teachers we came across have been very caring and at the same time displines the pupil if they've mis-behaved.
There is a Religous Study lesson (in English) every week, teaching pupil prayers and bible stories. I think this is excellent as it educates children about love, how to be kind to people around us.
