Do not worry so much. The first time exam may be so scary for a P.1 kid, they do not know the concept of exam. Do not panic on them if they did bad. Please do more old past paper for them or print out more exercise on internet to let them practise.
When my son studied for his exam, I just need him to know the Chinese words from the book, then I will emphasis more on extra works, such as jumble sentences, puntuation and comprehension.
When he studied Math, I let him to do the exercises from outside, so that it will not be the same as the school books.
如果小朋友仲係小一生, 佢可能未適應啦, 如果有時間可以同佢備下課, 如果唔係書本唔識, 可以同佢講估下老師大至上會講d咩 classroom Language,
例如: Listen to me, Look at me, Let's read together, open your book......比反小小信心佢就得架啦.
