Thanks, stellacl!  That's a good idea...but not for my son.  He doesn't wear slippers. He like to be bare-footed.  But anyway, it seems not a problem as what I firstly envisaged.  I just applied the gel after he falls asleep.  He didn't go to toilet midnight during the last two days as I didn't let him have too much drink before sleep.

Dr. Lam asked me to give him some DMSA for three days as a first challenge and do the urine test.  This is an effective way to evaluate mercury toxicity.  My son did a hair test and a urine test a year ago and we have got some data at hand already.

did Dr Trodd prescribe the Cal-mag to you before?  If not, you can ask him.  Unfortunately, my son would have constipation after taking it.

About application of Glutathione gel...
What do you think is the best way to apply the gel.  Previously Dr. Trodd suggested to apply the cream to the back shortly after having bath for best absorption.  But Dr. Lam suggested application to the soles in bed time and wrapping up for a night long.  I think skin absorption is always not a very effective way but I just wonder which is the best method? I wonder the soles have thicker skin and have a little bit of doubt about its relative effectiveness.  Could anyone share experience and enlighten me?

我嗰仔的urine test report(DSMA provocation test)已經出咗, dr trodd 電郵同我講留意report上lead超勁. 我睇到, 不過都唔明.  因為阿仔頭髮test出嚟, aluminium最勁, 但而家又lead超勁. 即係點呢...唔慌好啦.....
而家約咗下周一去見dr trodd.  到時會問佢攞calcium supplement.  請問cal-mag係liquid定係丸/粉?

I am not experience in interpreting the test report but I feel that the high Lead in urine after DSMA should be accurate.  Do you know the counting rules? It helps to answer that high toxic elements may not be reflected in the hair as the kid is not excreting them probably.  I remembered that Dr Trodd told me if the high level of mecury is measured in the hair and the level is still in the yellow zone, it is not that alarming as it seems that the kid can excrete it.  Of course you still need to reduce the exposure to the toxic metals and give supplements to help the kid.

The cal-mag I got from Dr Trodd (quite long time ago) was in liquid form.

Today I visited Dr. Trodd and also got the urine test report (DMSA provocation test).  Previously, my son's mercury level was high as shown in the hair test.  Now, both my son's mercury and lead level were high (but this time the mercury was not so terribly high).  Dr. Trodd said the urine test is more accurate than the hair test.  I hope all of you won't be too surprise by what I am saying, I am not too worry.  Cos' something wrong found means something I can do and try to cure my son !!!

I told Dr. Trodd no significant improvement during last month (with carnosine).  Since my son's last intake of DMSA shown good behaviour, Dr. Trodd said the main problem of my son may be toxic metals only.  We hope he can get good progress after DMSA.

This time we will have 4 pulses of DMSA (i.e. 3 days on / 11 days off).  We will get the blood test to check kidney/liver function after the 2nd pulses and urine test again after the 4th pulses.

The urine test report also shown the essential elements found.  So may be your kid doesn't need extra calcium.  You can check with Dr. Trodd first.

Dear All,

I'm back but just for a while as my maid is on vacation until Nov 16.  We visited Dr. Trodd this morning to collect the Organix comprehensive profile.  The result includes the nutrient markers, cell regulation, B-Complex, toxic and detoxfication, compounds of baterial or yeast/fungal orgin,  and supplement recommendation summary etc..... I'll spend some time to browse the description of each item online tonight.  Even Dr. Trodd needed to check for a few items online when he was explaining the report to us.

For the Glutathione gel, I think rubbing on the back is the best method for absorption but it's really smelly.  Now we dropped it for a while as my husband and I couldn't tolerate the smell while we're sleeping with him at night.

Dr. Trodd suggested DMSA as chelation therapy again.  I didn't tell him my son is using PCA-Rx.  I'm thinking about to use the TD-DMSA  if PCA-Rx doen't work well on my son.  Dr. Trodd said the effectiveness of the TD form is the same as oral form of DSMA.  You should ask Dr. Trodd if he would like to use combination of DMSA & ALA.

Thanks for sharing so much information with us, especially during the time your younger son is not getting well and you are so busy.

I'm going to take 4 pulses of DMSA.  For ALA, Dr. Trodd had not mentioned about it yet.  But I have some hesitation about ALA and need study more on it first.  I only know ALA can cross the brain (DMSA cannot) and bind with mercury to remove it from the brain.  But if the mercury inside the body is not clear, there is possibility that the mercury may cross the brain and reenter the child's brain as well.  

Let me think think first and also wait for your PCA-Rx test result.

BTW, what is Organix comprehensive profile ?  Not urgent, tell me later or I'll search thro' the web first.

Thanks.  Yes, Glutathione gel's smell is a bit strange but I can tolerate.  My son has no complaint either despite his always having a sensitive nose.

My son was prescribed by Dr. Lam the followings:
ALA
DMAE
DMSA (as first challenge for the urine test)
Zinc and Magnesium suspension
Omega-3 oral gel (really tasty!  I like it!)

I have no problem with adding ALA, DMAE and the suspension into juice for my son as they are all ordourless.  There is a slight taste of the Zn-Mg suspension but it's okay if I divide the full dose into two doses.  My son doesn't like the orange-taste of the Omega-3 gel but I think that can be sorted out.  (And indeed he has been taking Eye q together with brown rice congee for breakfast every morning so he still has other Omega-3 source.)  The problem now is with DMSA.  My son is unable to take tablets for the moment so we have to open the DMSA capsule to clear the content into a medium such as juice.  But the smell is so strong, just like "bad" egg smell.  He simply refused.  So I failed the first time.  As this pulse of DMSA application requires only half a capsule daily for 3 days so I have no other alternative but pour out the powder.  Got to think of some other methods...

你講dr trodd話嗰個hyperbaric therapy, 我之前都聽一個家長講過, 話呀dr trodd會訂.  我去過你比嗰個link睇過, 嘩, 咁細個, 想要阿仔入去都難, 仲要困係入面成粒鐘...有冇可能呢? 除非佢瞓著咗啦.
不過如果有效就幾大都試....一於做埋"陪瞓"阿媽.

我有個唔關biomedical事的問題想問吓, 希望唔好介意我離題:
有關阿仔做aba...佢而家一星期做5日, 有3日都係下午做(因為3日上午返eetc), 10次有9次都中途或開波未夠半個鐘就瞓著咗...
直情"par"咗係地下或枱面, 見都唔醒(真係不醒人事咁). 嗰trainer就比佢瞓半小時, 之後就叫到佢醒為止. 每次被叫醒都喊到飛起 .  請問各位有做aba的家長, 你哋d小朋友多數係上午定係下午做aba呢?  係唔係轉哂做上午做aba好d呢?

Hi Siu Ming,
my son took the DMSA provocation test before.  He can't take pills so I need to open the capsule as well.  And yes, the powder is very smelly.  What I did was I mixed it with juice and put it in a drinking bottle and he drank it easily because I think the bottle and the lid blocked the smell.  Since my son still drinks milk from baby bottle, I sometimes put it in baby bottle so he could finish the juice faster.

Dear ultramom,

Doing ABA needs ultra attention of the child.  Also it will be a waste of $ if your child has to take a nap at that time.  Can the EETC sessions be changed to the afternoon?  But that means, you son may be sleeping during the EETC session...

How about scheduling the ABA sessions after letting you son have a short nap after lunch?  Will that help?

好口講句。我兩個小可愛無做ABA，不過有EETC。大可愛以前讀Kinder時有兩個上午去Watchdog(港島半山)，下午再番Kinder(九龍塘)，有時會好攰，會在Kinder nap下。我想ABA是很intensive 的訓練，eetc 雖然less intensive, 但係都要attention，小朋友同一日做兩樣，由less intensive 到 more intensive，但係精力由早到晚卻是慢慢消耗，應該會很辛苦的。
我想最重要的是，不要令小朋友覺得係苦差，否則他的反應可能會較大，有時我對大可愛比較pushy(例如做功課), 卻換來他在行為上較大的抗議反應。成了negative reinforcement, 之後要用很長的時間調整和修補關係。
