My son also complained that the recess today was tooooo short.

And the lunch (full lunch, with rice and "sung") was taken home uneaten, he said there was no time to eat.  

He thought better of taking full lunch for the rest of this week, and wanted only snacks (candies).

I spent 1.5 hrs on the circulars too.

My daughter also complained about the recess time too!  She said she wanted to visit Miss Vinci Chan in recess. But the recess time only allowed her to finish two pack of  biscuits.

The kids watched Mr. Bean movie in assembly hall today.

Dear All,

1) Today my daughter told me that she was "not allowed" to go to toilet during recess.
I think this is not normal.
Perhaps the teachers recommend the kids to go to tolier only after eating the snack so many of them go to toilet more or less at the same time (i.e. towards the end of the recess).

Can anyone advise what is the normal rule at school?

2) When I look at the school timetable, recess is 35 minutes so why some of you said it is too short?
Was the recess time longer last year?

1.  Check with your daughter - why was she "not allowed" (eg who told her that she can't go to the toilet).
Normally for P1, the teachers are more lenient.  Teach your daughter to raise her hand / speak to the teacher(s) directly, not just listen to her classmates / the class monitor / the school prefects.  Sometimes the kids supply wrong info to each other.
Also, sometimes the older school prefects who watch over them may be too eager to exercise their powers ==> insist on the little ones returning to the classroom at the end of recess.

2.  The normal duration is 35 min, but I think yesterday a lot of time was spent over distribution of circualrs, so took up some of the recess time.

学校有circular, 只要填妥 circular 交回class teacher, they will send you a original application form from the musical festival , (as I remember that it is in yellow color), when you collect this one from school, you should give it to your private musical teacher to choose the competition song (for piano, choose 1 among the 3 songs) and return this original application form  to school afterward.

Please clarify whether you have received the circular from school or not, have you signed and returned it to your class teacher, my daughter is in P.4, she just received this circular on 4/9, if you have finished this procedure, they will give it to you later, (not so fast ) Maybe you can ask your kid to follow up with her class teacher later.
