Re: Any parents know which schools take IB?
Hello Bk parents,
Y2KChild,
I have a child in ICS and I just happened to talk to the principal of elementary school recently. But they did mention nothing about ICS adopting IB at all. I don't believe they have adopted any IB curriculum at ICS at the moment. The school has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges which is a major "American" accreditation agency. I am afraid your friend may have thought that this could be like IBO. According to the principal, that they have run the curriculum based on WASC and their Advanced Placement Programs makes the path for ICS students to go to universities and colleges in the US even much easier. They say the kids who go to the US even in any grade, they are able to fit in a new school there very well.
They are now sooooo eager to get through with the big event... which is the construction of the new school building! So, if they ever want to consider adopting IB, it may have to be put on the back burner until they settle down in the new environment.

One of my friends' kid is studying in ICS. I just called him to check whether ICS adopts the IB curriculum. He said yes but he didn't sure whether ICS adopted IB starting from PYP or only the diploma level. I think it is better to check with ICS directly in order to get a clear picture.
