SFA P.1 Students what about your exam result?

Hi! Anyone can comfort me? My daughter had worked very hard but her clsaa ranking is over 30....I am so disappointed. I don't know what to do.

Be happy.  Don't worry.  It is just the 1st Term only.  You have the 2nd & 3rd Term to chase up.

Which class is your daughter in?  Does she has ranking in Form?

Again, Cheer up.  We have to support our child.

Thank you! She belongs to 1D. Actually, she can get overall average in B grade, but her Maths is in always in margin. That's why her ranking is.....Any suggestion to improve her Maths? She is not like any other students, I mean from KV, KM or St catherine...May be that's also another reason.

My daughter is also in 1D.  So don't give up as long as you and your daughter is exerted her best efforts.  Keep on in the 2nd and 3rd term.

Hi Tsoiela,

Don't give too much pressure to yourself & your daughter. Some kids take time to catch up. My daughter is also not from a famous kindergarten. She initially also did not have good results in the assessments. However, she has caught up & is now doing well.  I believe your daughter will soon catch up once she gets used to the system. So, don't be disappointed. All you need is continuous support & encouragement to your daughter.

Hi! Everybody,

Thanks for all your support. Although I don't like the exam oriented policy of the school, the good relationship among her classmates and the parents that makes me think that we should stay in this school. All your replies are so warm. Thank you! But the competition here in this school is really so keen. By the way, any suggestion to improve her Maths. Are all your children had joined some course outside, so that they are so smart in the exam. Actually, nowadays children are really very pity, they all are so smart, as their parents we all put many efforts and hope on them, but if they want to be the outstanding one or to satisfly their parents, they have to work very very hard. Don't you think so?

唔駛咁快擔心,小一第一次都係試下自己小朋友有定位,加上有些小朋友適應力不是太快,又要適應學校生活,又要適應答題模式....適應到後,會跟得上的.

我地上年的成績,每個學期的名次都大換位的 (除了考頭個幾位小朋友外),試過有個小朋友第一次考得好差,但都第二個學期,適應到,追返上第二十名之內.

你更不需介懷幼稚園是否讀名校,我地上年有考頭十名的,
有好幾位都是來自屋村幼稚園的.小朋友讀左上小學,好多
野都係從頭開始的.俾D信心吧!

My son will study P1 in SFA next year.  I am worry about how much pressure will be put on students.  And worry about the distance between the school and Tsui kwan O.  But I want my son to have a good English standard and good future.  Do the parents know how much homework workload for the students.

First I want to ask whether you are career woman or not. As a P1 SFA student's mother, I think if you are full time housewife, you may not find it so difficult to handle. At least time for you will not be so tight. The homework if not so many as you think. Sometimes within 1-2 hours you can complete them. However, I think the students here in SFA are very smart. As it is a private school, if you don't concern and keen about your child, you will not send him/her into a private school. So you should have psychological  preparation that your child will study in a school full of elites, they are all smart and workhard. However, do you know only 1child can get the admission to SFA out of 10, during the 1st round. So your son must be very smart, congratulation!!

In fact I'm a working mom and my son is also studying in SFA. In this term, he's got good result and the most happy thing to me is not his academic results, but his independence in handling the homework, the revision and the daily arrangement of school bag (although I also keep an eye on him after work). To be honest, not all of the moms are not as lucky as me, and I agree very much that if the mom can give more time to the child in SFA, they must be more brilliant. I am working so I can't give more time to him but my husband and I try very best to spend time for his tests and examination.

My son is accepted by SFA & will probably study in the school in Sept 2006.  Could any parent provide the booklist for P.1 or old worksheets so that I can have some preparation for the challenge in P.1?
