I think many parents are very dedicated so may I thank you for your appreciation.  For many of us, this is just like a big family and you would be amazed with what you find after getting involve in volunteer works and be able to meet other parents and families.

However, since they are are just parents, they really may not know the kindergarten well enough (there are no regular chairs available in the classrooms floors) so I do feel sorry to learn about the incident with the pregnant mother who are unable to locate a regular chair.  I am sure this will be better prepared next year.

At the end, not necessary to worry about the chance of being admitted.  If all the factors you mentioned would be used for preference during offer, then parents like me would have nothing to worry and don't even need to apply other kindergartens.  But the truth is they actually just take these information for reference only for wait-list consideration, most probably I guess.  It doesn't affect anyone else's chance at all.

I think the teacher also asked my daughter to name the two objects being cut, I remember one is Orange and another is a banana or sweetcorn (forget already!).

It is really not a quiz so not to worry too much of getting each question right. It is a process to communicate with the children and observe them thru the interaction.

Take it easy as still a long time to wait for result!

As the teacher asked my daugther, she can answer one is "heart" but can't answer another one which is "el ...

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.  Frankly no ones can really comment what happened as we were not there in person.  Just by hearing the conversation you mentioned, I would also suspect that the teachers may feel that you may have "inch" her by saying your daughter can speak PTH when she said this is "Chinese" kindergarten.  I don't think you did this on purpose but try look at this from the other side too, there are really many parents nowadys who may do that on purpose......  so, I think it is just a mis-communication.

btw, I guess most of the teachers there don't speak PTH.  There are NET teachers for both English and PTH so the interview teachers are just Cantonese speaking.  PTH lessons are handle by the NET teachers only.

Honestly, it stated clearly that this is a Cantonese medium kindergarten on the application information, although I have known quite a few children who didn't speak well in Cantonese got admitted.  Of course, every child's situation is different.

明白你說的和的不好受…如Ian所說，我們都只是在聽的分享，不知當時的情況確實是如何，所以都難說什麼…
如老師當時真的說"咁黎做咩呀"就是有點harsh..但老師都係一個人，有時也會因為溝通上的問題而按不住自己嘅語氣…如其他家長說(我自己都有同感)，你叫老師用PTH問小朋友，好似有點態度上的問題…事實上，有些家長(我相信你不是)真的會以小朋友凈係識英文同普通話為榮…如家長認為這兩種語言才重要，那為何不去考國際學校或其他學校的英普班呢？！雖然爸爸不說廣東話，但媽媽說嘛，為何媽媽不用廣東話跟小朋友溝通，讓小朋友有個好的廣東話底呢？家長的配會是最重要，如家裡都唔講廣東話，但又要小朋友在學校講廣東話…想到這裡，大家都有點覺個不合理…該老師又可能忟左少少，所以有點失儀吧！講說回來，如老師當時真的失儀，該老師都應檢討一下，就是覺得有問題，操詞上都要花點功夫…
題外話，如你真你打算讓小朋友上廣東話學校，你可能要調調你們在家的溝通語言啊，否則就會有麻煩呢！

冇錯，小朋友係好容易學一個語然，但一天3個鐘唔係幾夠…就算學，都可能係一d簡單的溝通。k1還好，不是太學術，但到認真要"學野"，要明白內容，小朋友會有點吃力呢！
開始時，她不說廣東話，其他小朋友就未必會願意同佢溝通，這樣也影響了小朋友的社交發展…試想想，老師上堂全用廣東話，講完故事就會問番小朋友問題(K1)…咁老師咪要翻釋比你小朋友囉！如唔翻釋，小朋友就好似冇聽過咁，唔通你同老師講唔使理佢，佢聽多d就自然明咩！你講得出，好嘅學校同老師都做唔出…
當然，如小朋友明白廣東話，只是不願講就是另外一回事，到時佢知道肯講就可以同小朋友一齊玩，又可以參與上課的活動，佢就自然會多d講，如唔識聽，唔識講，佢可能唔想返學添…
無論聖心收唔收，你都需要裝備一下佢，有其他廣東話幼稚園收佢，你都多d同佢講廣東話，興趣班都請姐姐唔好就佢…
如真的改唔到channel，你就諗下英粵班，起碼小朋友們基本可用英文溝通，同時間再跟小朋友同上堂時學廣東話…
有時唔係你以為就可以，一個小朋友嘅問題，可以需要很多人多做特別安排和協助的，我相信不是很多學校有這樣的資源呢！
希望你唔好介意我咁講…

以前唔同依加啦！依加K1已经要做reading report(雖然係要家長代說明，小朋友畫畫)同show and tell(新聞/其他東西分享，按你小朋友的情况，佢可以点分享？)，K2已經學緊個樹字同做配詞，K3已經要寫句子…一埋位就黎，冇時間比你pick up完個新語言再學野啦…

再沒有禮貌, 再沒有愛心的老師也見過,而且深信每一間學校都會有呢!

但求自己是一個有禮貌的家長便很足夠, 埋怨太多只令自己不快.

參加Interview的目的是想仔女入到心儀學校其他的別想太多了!

其實面試的定義不是只讓他們(school)選擇我們的小朋友，而是雙向的，你也有權選擇他們。可能表面上SH好好，但實際上如何大家都不知(up to this stage)。如果不喜歡的話而又有其他offer，可forget it.
最近去過不少學校面試，很多都會開放playground 給小朋友玩，such as 禮賢會及真光。但SH有沒有？你我都清楚。原因是什麼不需要知，我對這間學校的comment在這天之後是一般的。真的除了中學部名氣吸引外，到現在我找不到優點。(including the interview method--very difficult to find the right students.)而我的小朋友面試完後都話之前的學校好D。Anyway,面試結果如何相信都不妨礙我和小朋友的決定。Teacher's behaviour will be affected by their administration policy.It is management theory.

會否一竹篙打了一船人呢？
樓主唔開心的是佢所提及老師的語氣…
所有學校都可以有自己的policy和preference(我不知道聖心對唔識講廣東話的小朋友有沒有policy)，但就不等學校想老師不技巧的拒絕家長。我個人認為讓樓主不悅的主要是老師個人的語氣表達問題…
