It may not be the truth.
My son had given up TSL and private school offer in order to get a place in LS thro' lucky draw. As I known from the current classmates of my son, most of them had given up more than 1 offer in order to get in LS.
And, after performing the first term test, the Headmistress of LS noticed us from her experience that the average performance is very good this year. Nearly 90% kids getting B or above which may even be better than last year’s.
I believe that over 90% of kids that studying in LS are coming from the similar family profile of other DSS or private schools. For those families that are previous 'LS' members, most of their kids are very well prepared. They have not gone for the interview process of other schools just because they are not necessary, which not implies they are not capable. For those families that are going thro' lucky draw, they usually hold on hand more than 1 offers of other schools in order to ensure that they can put LS as the first priory during the draw. So, as fast as I know, the student profile is still very good in LS now.
I hope my information can explain the real situation to those parents who really want to choose LS for their kids.

So usually those accepted thru lucky draw are those NOT accepted by good DSS /private - i.e ...
