I think all of us know what an interview means. So there is no need to argue here whether DGJS's "interview" is too brief or not, or it's fair. It's indeed NOT an interview.

btw, to those who say "你情我願" or
"that's the rule" etc. They must have been no involvement in lehman brothers bond. just kidding.

Agree that it is not an interview, nor an evaluation or assessment for selection.
It is just a personal judgement, based on family background, kindergarten results/comments.

DGS

I am not really appreciated that kind of publication. It is wasting the time of parents and giving the false hope to the kids and parents. If DGS has already drafted its final list of applicants, it should annouce before hand or frame a more clear screening guideline for the parents to take references or consideration on whether the parents still insist to try being interviewed.
Not just putting our pitiful parents on the stage to have a good show in Hong Kong.

其實我就覺得玩得這遊戲就預左要守個rules,不過如果根本唔係真係interview而係想做個勢出黎比人睇我就覺得唔好搵D家長同小朋友黎做show浪費大家時間,至於佢地係米咁就不得而知 (因為太多人鍾意見人排佢又排,根本就唔清楚係咩學校,我老公交表個日佢話前面個C奶問佢究竟係咩學校,點解咁多人排

)其實年年這間學校都係咁,又上報紙又上新聞,其他個幾間名校都無佢地咁亂,真係好似做show咁,所以我都係抱住玩下心態去,無所謂

DGS interview

I have been reading the posts and I have applied for DGS for my daughter though I know all along the chance is very slim. I have a question in mind. Since many parents complain about DGS putting on a show as far as the interview is concerned, then should school interviews be like job interviews? That is, we can send in job application letters but we will be given an interview only when the boss thinks we are potential candidates. Would we really prefer not being given an interview at all? Would there be other complaints if that was the case? I really don't know because I haven't got the interview yet and I don't know what sort of treatment Mrs. Tai would give my family.

其實我就覺得如果真係得2分半鍾就真係唔知interview咩野,真係問你叫咩名,幾歲,讀咩幼稚園,住响邊跟住就 in完就真係兒戲點,當然唔係話要好似見工咁,但一個小朋友要响學校讀6年,咁作為教育的地方同為人師表咁就決定收唔收係米兒戲左D

,好似聖士提反咁,佢地interview都唔係耐,大概15-20分鐘,但都中英普通話都test哂,有對答考記憶,起碼你會覺得真係用心去睇小朋友.
咁當然Mrs. Dai要見咁多小朋友無可能用咁多時間,咁佢係米應該分比其他老師做,到second interview佢至黎咁係米好D (當然只係我個人意見,人地學校點運作我無權理會,只係我小小心聲)

You are probably right! Like SPCC, they will have the second interview too.
But anyway, what makes DGS even more difficult to enter is that even film stars and singers, e.g. QiQi, Eason Chan, now see DGJS as their target school and that's why they transferred their daughters from other kindergartens to CCKG at K2. You all know how high profile Eason Chan is when his daughter got admitted by CCKG. Her daughter will surely be admitted by DGJS later. How can one not think that DGJS only recruits those who are celebrities' children or who have high social status?

I didn't read through all the responses underl this thread. My girl went to the interview last year.
She was not admitted, of course.
However, I do think the principal could really able to figure out those diligient girls. If you were the principal and has been doing the interviews for over 6 years, you should "smell" who is your cup of tea. Just like being a HR director, you should be able to know if the candidate is the right person after the first few questions. Don't think that the questions that asked by the principal is too simple that your girl should defintely be able to answer, of course, most of them can answer.
but the way they answer might be different. that little difference is the key of the games.

I knew two girls who has been admitted by DGJS. They are really smart. You can tell when you talk to them.

Also you should know even you are admitted, it is just a beginning of the game. You should devote a lot more time with her.

You may not agree with me but it is my personal opinion.

向各位父母致敬!
不要再糾纏在此組織, wasting time, 留噃D時間和精神係第二間身上. 我嗰座樓有五六個DGJS學生,呀媽同d囡都好囂張. 有一個識距地又識我嘅太太朋友講, 距地(教授&醫生派)話幫呢位太太囡囡用人事入DGJS,她都說不用了.她眼見距地d媽媽(housewife)同囡囡讀書讀到癲晒.好驚怕怕, 留噃d錢讀大學好過. (當然有例外, 10份之1對會讀得好開心, 包括媽媽)

香港人, 輕鬆下....relax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!哈哈哈!

老實說，好相信教會當初辦此校的理念不是咁樣的．
這校雖然是香港數一數二的精英學校，但其實有點走歪了路．教育的本質不是這樣的．
不過，這也是這個病態社會所衍生出來的產品吧，有"求"才有"供"的．
算吧．
