My girl is studying K2 at Victoria Kinder also. Just want to give some more info to all the mums and dads here. Start from this year, each K2 class (I don't know if the other classes like K1 or K3 do the same) has the English block time and Chinese block time everyday. Each block time has about 1 or more than 1 hour (sorry that I forgot the exact duration). In each block time, only the native teachers will be in the class. It means that when it is English block time, there'll only be two NET in the class. In that case, the children will be forced to communicate purely in English during that specific time.

Ms. Lee, vp, told us that the "block time" is adopted by K2 & K3 only but not for k1.

May I know which Victoria does your daughter go to?

Can you tell us how do the Chinese and the English teachers teach together in K1 class?

When it is English block time, the Chinese teacher will go to next class and that the next class's NET will go to my girl's class. So, both the teachers staying with the class are the NET whilst both the teacher in the next class are the Chinese one (for their Chinese block time) & vice versa.

I quite like the idea of block time. Every 2 classes are assigned as partner classes and they share their teachers in the way that you described.

Hi Cyrusmum & aadad,

My kid studies in Lower Kornhill. When the school term started this year, the class teachers told us this new arrangement on the parent orientation day. I don't know if they used to have this arrangement for all the K2 & K3 classes before but definitely this is a good idea for developing their language. By the way, which branch school are your kids studying?

just want to correct some rumor

being a doctor is not a "promise" for CCKG, because at least 2 of my dcotors friends's kids got rejected by CCKG

I think the performance of the kid is more important
.

My son will go to CWB K1 next year. When I visited the CWB school, I saw 2 classes were having block time. I am not quite sure how do the 2 different languages teachers teach in a K1 class. In this regards, would you share your information with us please?

我囝囝係返何文田分校架! 我諗可能我哋間宜家要上IB課程, 所以就冇block time啦!

hellokids,
佢哋一班共有三個老師, 咁小朋友多數會分為三組, 輪流跟唔同老師做唔同既嘢, 但有啲課堂又會一齊上! 初係k1時囝囝就會被老師編排所屬組別, 但到k2, 佢哋就會自由分組, 做完一組既嘢, 就會自動自覺去下一組!

何文田分校我諗可能想準備攞IB, 所以宜家每日都會有2小時係上IB既課程, 另外嗰1小時至上本地課程.
根據學校比我哋既資料, IB(國際文憑課程)係要平衡發展五個[主要元素], 包括 : 明白概念, 學習主要知識和技能, 發展正面態度及採取行動.咁學校每次會有唔同既主題, 例如 : 我們是誰, 世界如何運作, 我們如何表達自己,..... 而課程內容就會依據主題而設計唔同既活動, 鼓勵學生自己探索, 找出答案!

The children in the class will be divided into 3 groups and take the different sessions from each of the 3 teachers in turn. Eg. when the 1st group is listening Chinese story, the 2nd group will go for the Eng story by the NET and the 3rd group will stay with the Teaching Asst for some other activities like drawing or etc. This was the situation I saw from my girl's class when I visited their lesson last year.

多謝你的回應, IB課程正是我的target, 我打算如果考到的話, 會選擇行IB課程的小學和中學給兩個仔仔, Victoria可以從幼稚園就開始實行, 實在合我心意!

你的小朋友是從PN還是K1開始讀HMT Victoria的呢?

以你所見, NET和普通話老師對小朋友友善嗎?

我諗我都要惡補一下我自己既普通話, 唔係第時家長日, 同外籍老師溝通還可, 同普通話老師傾計時老師聽不明我說什麼就.....

我囡囡都係維記（CWB)同St. Cat都收左英普班，不過我多數都會讀維記，因為３年都係NET係班房，而St. CAT K2同K3都無．

我囝囝係k1至入去讀! 以我所見, 各個老師都好nice, 好得小朋友歡心!
其實都唔驚既, 我見好多普通話老師都識廣東話既, 可以佢有佢講普通話, 你有你講廣東話嘛! 係我哋嗰間, 好多下午英普班既普通話老師會係朝早度做助教, 到咗下午就做返班主任. 而個廣東話老師就會同佢掉轉!

Sorry for the late reply. Also sorry that I don't have the 保姆車 contact number here 'cos my hubby forgot to bring it back from the office. But he called that Mrs Lai of the 保姆車. It'll cost $1,300 from Lam Tin to CWB Victoria !! Quite expensive...
