Some more info about the P1 briefing today:
- As Tiida said, the presentation from the psychrologist is very good. The audience (including me) applauded when he said he will work full time at the school. Don't misunderstand that he functions like a doctor or a social work. In fact, he said he will work with the teachers to identify the needs of the students.
- Ms Ramida Din said
* The more you read, the better you read. The more you write, the better you write.
* Learn to read, read to learn
* Teachers and parents are facilitators to help the students to learn.
* Scholarship - 3 types : Financial needs, Academic excellence, Talent. Except the first type, interview is needed for making decision.
- Mrs Chan said
* Parent Education : Either Father or Mother needs to attend the class, but not both (limitation on class size). They can attend the class alternatively. The principal expects that the parents can share what they learned at the class, so either one attends the class would be okay.
* Due to the delay of school construction, the start date (6 Sep) may be postponed. She will have a meeting with relevant parties to review the situation tomorrow.
* Three non-Chinese teachers have been employed. (We saw one today)
* The first one or two terms will use Chinese for teaching. Then, move to English.
