Dear parents.

Just ask for your opinons.

Will you consider Chinese written form when you choose a international school for your kids?

If yes, will you perfer simplified or traditional Chinese characters?

simplifed- more popular worldwide
traditional- local use , more practical

ChingMa,

I prefer Traditional Chinese however, the teacher will be come from Taiwan and the accent is not as formal as those from Beijing. Anyway, written chinese to be used will not be the major consideration when I use a school.

For me, I prefer traditional chinese as I think its easiler to learn simplied chinese after knowing the traditional chinese characteristic while its harder the other way round.

I personally prefer tranditional characters so that my kid can learn from the newspaper, prints and signs locally. Simplified form can be learned when she is older.

However, it seems there are more international schools teaching simplified characters than tranditional characters in HK....

Usually, I seldom respond to any of these emails (I will treat them as kind of "chain letter"). However, any mom has comment on it?
