Civil servant need to 1) work for the Government AND 2) pay tax.

For 1) he/she get various benefit as an employee; for 2) he/she just get the same welfare level as general public.

We paid the tax and government get the money directly from us.  But the teacher does not get the money directly from students.  So, they cannot complain the teacher.  They can complain the school only.

As what I am pinpointing the civil servant but the government.

They are not two completely different systems.

If the teacher use the money of the school to buy presents for his children, he is wrong.  But in your case, he is not wrong because he does not use any money of students.

But what I said is similar to the following case:
Students paid the school fee.  And if they got 100 marks, the school would give them pencils as reward and the school said that it is all the school can afford.  But at the same time, the school use their school fee to buy a big model for teachers' children who got 100 marks as reward.  And then the school explained it to their parents, the model is one of the staff welfare of the teacher.   Do you think it is fair to the parents????

公務員的子女教育津貼，不是福利，而是權利，請攪清楚。他們入職時簽約有這樣權利，當他們依據合約完成工作，便可享有這樣的權利。正如普羅市民完成工作，每月可出糧一樣。
當時的公務員職位，都是公開給市民申請。有興趣和能力便可加入。沒有所謂公平不公平。亦沒有所謂自己人或非自己人之分。

每人都可以爭取自己的權利，但請用正確的理據去爭取。

其實在政府工作或私人公司工作也好,福利算是工資的一部份.
公務員子女讀私小也好,國際也好跟學卷沒關係. 一個係員工福利,一個係社會福利.

標題講小學,而公務員子女亦在小學開始才有津貼.幼稚園方面印像中冇聽過MR.LEEsaid,  "private school is not good"
我聽過佢話私人幼稚園質素參差,有好好差.

講返標題  <為什麼公務員子女用教育補貼進國際小學?> 難道只有在私人機構工作其子女享有公司的教育津貼才是天經地義 ?? 而公務員子女享教育津貼就被受質疑!公務員子女是低人一等嗎 ?    :evil:

如果你意思係指李先生批評部份私幼唔好.. 點解公務員子女又去讀私幼 !! 似乎與公務員的教育津貼扯不上關係...因為公務員子女讀幼稚園係無津貼/補貼.

李先生並無講過私小, 私中有唔好.. 咁如果個員工有教育津貼.. 當然會考慮入讀私校.. 不過亦唔係全部都會咁做.

我覺得都唔算o既。只不過中電願意犧牲自己少少利潤去留住一班人才唧。

老實講，佢地用得幾多電費丫，我又唔順ｄ高層屋企會特登裝幾十部冷氣機去「扯」電。都係員工福利唧。

If this benefit is not longer existed for the civil servants joined after 1996 Aug, the signal is very clear and those questions here are already answered.  Can anyone tell why this is cut? keeping this allowance for old civil servant would not affect the team's morale?
