Even CIS is not elites according to your >40 IB score.  There are only 3 schools in HK with a average score very close to or above 40.  Less than 100 students altogether.
The more bizzare a thing is, the less mysterious it proves to be.

What’s your child’s mother tongue? How’s his/her English level? Is he/she capable of understanding difficult concepts in English? Sorry to be rude but I am a bit concerned — International schools teach students as if English is their mother tongue, so they’re going to teach difficult concepts in English with no translation to Chinese (except those schools who has EAL support). Learning maths involves the understanding of difficult concepts and it may not be easy for a child to catch up if his/her mother tongue is not English, or he/she has not reached that level. Moreover the maths curriculum should be easier when compared to local school at the junior years (because they focus on building concepts and few drilling is given), so if one is concerned about Maths, international schools may not be your cup of tea. Are you looking for entry in 2019/20 academic year? Try HKCA PLK school, it’s new and a few good comments have been heard here.

If you don’t mind travelling to Kowloon for school, I would suggest Stamford American School - they have bilingual programs which teach in English / Mandarin in a 6:4 ratio. There are expat kids taking this program and they’ll hire Mandarin tutor to help them catch up with the Chinese level. Go to school tours to learn more!

But if he/she goes to local school, her English reading and writing will not be consistent with educated native people.

I would take a better B2 local school or most of the private, DSS schools over Stamford, or Hans Academy.   Just my opinion.

Out of the 3 schools, only one of them is international school.

If a school can’t even do their own web site right, it is an indication of what kind of school it is.

The amount of information on the web site, I can probably write from scratch in 3 hours.

CIS, IMS, KCIS (bilingual international schools)

ISF, VSA (private school)

If your kid is now at K3 already, I think is too late to apply these schools... but no harm to call the school to check whether interview is available.

VSA you must either have the debenture (last heard it cost 5M+) or your kid is existing student with Victoria. BTW, Singapore International school also is a bilingual international school. Same as above comment, I think is abit late to apply.

How about non-elite local private school?
Some teach math in English as well
If your kid studies well, he or she can be admitted to local elite secondary school
