Jovi Arts (Best of the best in Tsuen Wan)

Sorry, I didn't notice your question raised. My kid "attend" drawing class in some other drawing centre before she start learning at Jovi Arts. I used the word "attend", because many 1 hour drawing class is simply giving you a sample picture and ask kids to copy it. The teacher just giving simple guidance in the class. However, the immediate end result for "attending" such class is very good! Do you know why? Cause kids just reproducing nice pictures! No complaints, parents appreciate good pictures drawn by their kids after class.
I noticed Jovi Arts just by chance when I visiting Kwai Fong City Hall, cause she has special drawing class and leaflets posted there. Then I called and visited her studio, I was impressed by her students' drawings and her passion when talking with her about how to teach young kids to draw. She considered it should take at least one and a half hour to "learn" drawing and not to spend an hour to copy drawing.
I then let my kid "study" at Jovi Arts. Initially, I found my kid's drawing was much worse than before!! At the first few months, only a few pictures drawn by my kid, I would considered relatively better. So, I guess my kid is not talented, but as long as my kid like Miss Lee and enjoy studying there, I just keep going.
Gradually..... all in a sudden, I found my kid's can draw very fast and the content is quite imaginative (e.g. make up with story behind the picture). In particular the skill to use and match colours, decision is quick, balanced and natural. This is now mostly reflected in the school homework, whenever the homework requires to do some drawings, it is always full of colours and mix-up with a lot of side subjects. e.g. clouds, birds or angels in the sky.
Miss Jovi Lee is the only teacher at Jovi Arts, she own the studio. She will spent two to three lessons for one subject with discussion and provide sample drawings (e.g. Van Gough, De Vinci, Monet) of famous artists, but kids are encouraged to use their imagination to create their own pictures. Miss Lee had organised her students' pictures for a 畫展 at the Tsuen Wan City Hall. Students and parents enjoy that very much!
Hope this answered your question.
