全部選才制度都擇優而取，如果一味用公唔公平，階級鬥爭去制造事端，係別有用心，用呢種心態，好難教出能把握自身條件力爭上游嘅下一代。

再者，已經面臨升大學嘅時刻，在大部分學生都積極面對時，牛依對泣，於事無補。

Annie40 的說法比較中和，事情總是黑白兩面的。節目是否擊中很多人的要害，因而要大力反擊，我並不關心。若樓主對節目內容耿耿於懷，或有感不憤，也只是自我內耗，徒添煩惱。最不公平的並不是 IB 與大學收生的什麽什麽關係。最不公的是家長自身對四週所謂的不公作焦點，把憤外情緒延伸至下一代，這才是對下一代的不公。

我補充多一句，我們考慮 lB 前，有請教多間大學負責收生的教授，了解他們的想法及經驗，才明白箇中分別，亦更明白不是每個學生都適合。

有時見那幾個傻瓜家長，年年翻炒，苦澀滋味，真替她們可憐！

我估當中有些人有利益沖突。我有個朋友本地普通local,係香港入唔到IB，唯有去外國讀IB。當中學費驚人。

If IB is really easier, why would DBS need to screen students on a highly selective basis to opt for IBs? If I were DBS, I might rather keep the more able boys in DSE stream to boost its public exam results (which concern many parents) while let the less able ones to do the "easier" IB

If I were DBS parents, it's our choice and not purely school's choice.

It's a matching process rather than screening process.

Of course you have to choose it before the school would choose you. So I wonder if the school would choose the more or less able students to take IB, given number of students are more than quota allowed for IB students

Anyhow even DBS students need to pass tests (no sure if written or oral or both) in order to get in the IB route and it is not a free choice as students or parents wish. It is a selective process.

大部分看成績，考 written test。個個人能力唔同，有人話難，亦有人話唔難。有人甚至有 scholarship ，學費都免埋。

唔好用 local school 家長 "愛面 + 唔衰得" 心態看國際學校 D 家長。
好多人比個個月過萬學費面不改容，但買幾舊水 raffle tickets 都話貴，
又有 D 好直接，連一萬幾千的 school trip 都話貴，
佢地先唔介意你話佢孤寒。

既然你覺得ib 個個都可以讀到，咁就不存在ib有任何優勢可言了。因為如果有優勢，咁就不應該會個個都可以讀。
我自己相信，ib 吸引左一班能力較好的轉左過去，能力無咁好的，如果要入有IB的學校，好似DBS，SPCC，跟本連入都入唔到，何來有得選DSE／IB？

又唔好話製造事端, 都不過是在此吹吓水, 呻吓

I think esf is the only non-selective schools offering IB but not every student at ESF takes IB. There are two routes - IB and BTEC

Yes you may argue as such but ESF "selects" just out of its need because English is the medium of learning and more than a subject to learn. They don't really "match" kids for admission purposes as long as the kids can communicate in English. But strictly speaking, any process that is not by way of "first come first served" or "lucky draw" is selective.
