As I know you are Catholics and you have other choices, I recommend you to try Marymount because it is also a very good school with the same religion, please be reminded that DGJS is a Christian school.  

In my opinion, if I were you, I will try my best to find a comparable school with the same religion of myself, especially Catholics and Christian believe in the same God, and SPCCPS and  Marymount are comparable, why not let your child study in a Catholics school.  

The above viewpoint is from a religion believer, pray before you make a decision.  May God bless you and family.

So you are taking the seat, right?
Good for you and your daughter.  If you really want to give up the seat of SPCC.  Please tell the school earlier.  Please don't hold seats from many schools.  Leave a chance to someone else.

My son doesn't have second interview but he was interviewed by the Headmistress. Mine is a gentle and quiet kid. I don't think only 'blue bloods' are invited to meet with the principal in first in. We were very disappointed after knowing we are rejected. But it's the school's discretionary in selecting student.

cpbank我好明白妳嘅感受，每年都有二三千人去做場show,當年我個仔入到St Paul Co-ed, 都是靠些人際關系，如果唔喺，真的要打生打死都未必考到入嚟，因為N無人仕的quota並不多。如果無錢無背景都好難考到入嚟，就好似校長的姪孫咁，聽聞不是很叻，但前年都入到嚟。

坦白講，第一眼看到這個post， 真係又興奮又心酸！這所是我們的dream school！ 現在正是其中一個心急如焚的備取生，經過第二次的面試，總帶著期待，但當收到waiting list letter後心就沈了下來，每天等待著2555xxxx字頭的電話，盼望有人放棄而有後補位，當然六十個備取生中自己小朋友可能不是頭幾個，加上DGS、DBS未公佈，哪裡會有人放棄？想收到電話簡直奢望！這個post給我們一絲毫的希望，不久就幻滅了！心酸的是我們這些真正愛這所學校，同意其教育理念，欣賞其德育培訓的家長就落空！明白自己小朋友不及別人優勝，只有靜待著奇蹟出現，期望著正取生被最心儀的學校取錄！或許這就是痴心錯配！

Many will opt for DBS/ DGS if they live in Kowloon or if they have same gender siblings following

Sorry to disappoint to disappoint some of you. Usually the drop out rate isn't that high, Majority of the drop out are those with offer from famous Subsidery / governament schools like St Joseph/ Wah Yan, particularly those with sibling because they will automatically got the second seats.

though not a very big sample size, out of the 5 waitlisted kids I know from the past 2 years, 3 was admitted finally.

In this case that means they will have released the seats already as 自行收生 has announced result? If success to get a famous government school, people should release now or once they register at SPCC their seats at 自行and 抽獎will be cancelled. (As stated in the note sent to us with the registration notice)

I also think not many will give up the seat easily even after DBS/DBS release result as SPCC is also a top school with same high banding. If location is a concern, they would not have applied or registered. But even your kid is on the waitlist, don't give up. He/she has alread been doing very good to be in the 200 shortlisted applicants!

不要放棄，天父必有安排。我女兒已讀了半年了，她很喜歡學校生活，希望你女兒能成為我女兒的同學仔。

很久沒有上來EK了，被樓主的題目吸引了，相信很多人都有好奇為何樓主願意放棄千萬人的DREAM SCHOOL。又聽說朋友今日收到DGS OFFER 信，有興趣知道樓主是否同樣中獎﹖若然是，恭喜你﹗因從樓主的留言似乎DGS 才是你的FIRST CHOICE。

我雖然不明白為何樓主對SPCC 有以上的看法，小女兩年前就是在SPCC 與DGS中選了前者，與大部份的家長一樣覺得這選擇沒有錯，但我總相信不同的學校適合不同的人，既然樓主對SPCC有那麼多的不滿，實在應該三思是否讓女兒入讀，要知道父母的看法會直接影響小朋友將來校園生活及表現。更加希望你儘早通知學校放棄學位，你女兒能考入SPCC又有DGS 2ND IN，一定是叻女，在哪裡讀書都必定出色，要家長與小朋友一起屈就在一所不喜歡的學校六年甚至十二年，倒不如找一間自己讀得舒服的，讓位給那些真心喜歡這所學校的家長和小朋友。要知道那些WAITING 的小朋友可能也HOLD 住其他學位，這是一個CHAIN REACTION，影響好多人，要為別人設想，吾好等到開學先放棄﹗

正在WAITING的家長，不要灰心，總有機會﹗

我们是清貧的家庭，当校长提名小儿时，我们怕小儿感到經濟壓力，更怕其他小朋友很多額外補習，而我們零補習，家里没有语言環境，上学能跟上吗？直到收到学校要小儿參加英文銜接課程。终感到梁校長是真心帮助的。（我们对半年哪里參加補習，能跟上課程是一籌莫展？）  間間學校都有經濟好－－－以后你能打拼得好的環境是靠自己的,你是非常好！
