Thanks a lot for your info. It's not easy to think about primary school so I don't think about secondary school at this moment. Anyway, it's good to know that some schools are changing to more activity-based and match the reality world more.

Dear moms,
After knowing the new principal's background, I'm getting worried about her quality. Just hope she is a good principal coz it's very crucial for us as our kids are K2 which is a very important year.

What bad weather! Preston's morning ECA classes are cancelled and quite boring at home.

I talked to Ms. Lai about the new principal and she said the teachers knew about the resignation of Ms. Yip only one week earlier than the parents. The new principal left the previous kindergarten more than a year, then left to the States for studies. She was the back to Hk and worked for PLK for course development, and then later to LHK. So sounds a bit better then we thought. Anyway, Ms. Lai said basically the whole course outline and development won't change (coz there are 3 LHK). Hope she is a good and caring principal.

Hei Ching mom,
I had the same worry about the reference letter as the new principal doesn't really know our kids well (esp. since Ms. Yip has known Preston for almost more than 3yrs, I think he studies for the longest time at LHK). I talked to Ms. Lai about my worries but she said the reference letter is usally drafted by the teacher 1st, then the principal will comply all the points then write a letter according to the teacher's points. So not to worry too much.

Dear moms,
I was a bit stressed out after hearing the seminar, I didn't sleep well last night. I'm not too worried about the kid's interview itself but moreso on the procedures and parents' interview. The seminar was very useful and the parents were so nice to tell us everything about the details of the interviews.

Why didn't you come last night? The seminar ended at ~9pm but we stayed behind to talk to the teachers. We(bblaw, Chuek Yan's mom and me) were chased out of the school by the principal at ~10pm.

I have friend's son just got into P1 DBS, her son is very smart and mature. He attended 2 kindergartens( Victoria in am and Delia in pm) and he is very good at swimming. I don't know if this is the criteria but if your kid is more outstanding in one area, there's definitely an advantage.

Dear moms,
I was exhausted yesterday but Preston said he was not tired and still wanted to go to the park on the way home. Everyone enjoyed the day, even the parents. The school really put a lot of effort and it's very successful.

I must ask Preston tonight coz he's crazy about vehicles, esp. buses. He also brought a London bus to school for 'show and tell' today. I wonder what book I shall bring when I'm a story mom in late June.

Do you like the Mother's Day present? It's quite pretty and I wore the bracelet these 2 days when I went out. It's quite fashionable.

It's very nice that they know so much now, I like kids this age coz they're so cute and so talkative, make you laugh all the time.

You're right, they can calculate very fast. It's getting more difficult and Preston is not doing very well now, still have more than half a year to finish the whole course. Need to practice every night. If he concentrates, he can add or minus 4-5 2-digit numbers by heart. Hope he can pass this term.

So sad and heart-breaking very time watching the news or reading the newspaper about the earthquake.

I was sick and had bad flu (fever up to 39C). Preston was so excited when he got home and told me about the magician. I think he had a good time.

Thanks, I'm better today and attended the visit to Pui Kiu.

The concept of Pui Kiu is very good, no exam, no test and mimimal homework. The kids there are very happy and you can read from their faces. I think I'll try this school.

Thanks very much for your sharing. Sounds similar as Pui Kiu. But the parents who attended both visits said the kids looked happier at Pui Kiu compared to BU. Anyway, many schools have great vision but all these schools are quite new. Whether their concepts work or not, no one knows, that's one thing I'm a bit worried. But there is no doubts the kids can have little stress and have a happy school-life (same for the parents as well).

It's the 1st time I met the new principal, she is soooooo young but quite nice. Just wondering if she got enough experience.

Dear moms,
I attended the briefing sessionof GT(Ellen Yeung) college on Sat.. After hearing the briefing, I know this school is not my cup of tea. They emphasis a lot on going out for competition, have talent classes (actually is interest classes) within school time. P1-P3 base in Mong Kok school and P4-P6 share TKO school with the secondary school. Son't really like the school but may apply just as a mock interview.

Will you visit CKY? I'm  interested in this school but I heard the school fee is rather expensive. Also, we can't visit the new school. Anyway, I'll go to the visit.

My husband is leaving for trip yesterday and Preston insisted to go to the airport. Actually, he wanted to take the long bus ride and helped to pull the luggage. Anyway, sometimes kids at this age like to make their own decision.
