I understand your situation because I'm living in Kowloon East, this net only a few places of EMI band 1 school for lucky draw.  Last year, I have a friend who's daughter is falled into band 1 group.  She choose St. Catherine, but her daughter did not have even interview chance in round 1.  You know, a lot of other nets top girls also apply St. Catherine & St. Paul Lam Tin.  After that, she choose 1st St. Paul & 2nd St. Catherine for lucky draw.  Before result announced, she told me she made wrong decision because both of them are so top in Kwun Tong net, if 1st place loose, her daughter may go to "n"th place.  Her daughter's school also suggest her to take only one band 1 EMI in the 1st place & the rest choose CMI band 1.  Finally, she's luckily BINGO to St. Paul Lam Tin.

This is a solid case why student fall into Kwun Tong net is not advised to choose more than one band 1 EMI.  And that why I sent my daughter to Yau Tsim Mong studying primary school.

In fact, Kwun Tong net is very keen competition.  I know St. Cat & St. Paul are very good school but I do not have confident to let my daughter try these 2 schools in 1st round, even I think my daughter is good enough, but too risky.

不過,你囡囡既然讀精英A班,全級考23應該都係BAND1,所以你不妨考慮揀聖傑靈或藍田聖保祿在第1位,梁式芝這類BAND1尾BAND2頭的女校在第2,咁就穩陣D啦!

純粹個人意見,只供參考,最重要係同班主任同囡囡商量下,因為你囡囡應該有心頭好,而班主任就比較了解學校與同區其他學校的質素,囡囡banding的問題及學校派位往績

But you never know other parents how to approach the first 3 places.  This is not the same each year.  A ex-school mate of my daughter who put :
1st - QE (100 seats)
2nd - Marymount (only 5 seats)
She finally got Marymount.  In this case, we guess her random # is 排得好後 or huge students put QE in the 1st place.  Who knows.

你唔知其他家長怎樣選校, 年年唔同, 看你命運.  有時得一個位, 係你就係你.  多與學校相量, 多參與BK吹水, 保証有著數.

我聽已畢業的家長說, 我校會有個統計, 但不會公開.  在未落實填上表格之前, 校方會看有多少人報某某校, 若有d band 2學生想try band 1 英中 but 發現已有大量band 1 生入飛, 佢會建議你修改去其他好的band 1 中中, 博一博.  That's why we need to follow primary school strategy.  The parent who put Marymount as 2nd choice that's also advised by our school.  Of course, final decision will be made by the parents.

My friend told me 全級第一名都係去梁式芝(中中), she also put St Paul Lam Tin as 1st choice.  Their school totally 4-5 students put St. Paul Lam Tin in 1st choice but only draw 2 from her school.

Another example :
My niece 全級第一名 in 聖馬太, a top primary school in Kwun Tong Net, 佢都等唔到放榜, 就入佐 St. Paul Co-ed.佢呀媽話don't want to rely on lucky draw.  同年全級第二名個同學, 都係抽到band 1 中中, luckily, 叩門入埋 St. Paul Co-ed. at last.

Kwun Tong net ----keen competition.  A lot of top students (like my niece who is also above average in St. Paul Co-ed now) in this net but they have no choice in 2nd round because not enough EMI for them.

第一輪-----好難入.  你多看BK, 有句口頭嬋, 我現在常引用 "要有特異功能"才有機會.
