We have exactly the same concern as yours for our kid, for P1. We finally choose local as we do want him to acquire solid foundation of Chinese before going into international. If language is not your key concern, u have to consider what kind (character) of a kid you wanna rear.

Of course, your kid's personality is also a key concern, my son is a person who's very observant & attentive in class, he even enjoys n always take initiative to do exercise books. That's why we dare to let him try local. As long as we dun push him on academic achievements, he should enjoy the pleasure in local Sch too.
