Hi CherylMum,

This sure is good news!  Just wonder how many Chinese lessons there are at ESF Primary and how many will they be increased to?  Also how long is a session now?  What is Chinese Language B Standard Level?  

Also, do you have any idea the no. of Chinese lessons at ICS Primary please?  Thanks.

No I haven't made up my mind yet.  My child is already accepted by ICS.  Now depends whether she would cooperate in the ESF interview.

What grade is your child accepted to ICS?  When did the interview take place and how long did it take to know the result?

I suppose so but I don't know how much.  They'll send me a letter.  According to their website, it's $5,000.  

So you need to pay the deposit at ICS which is non-refundable if you finally declines their offer, right? How much is the deposit this year?

My child will be in P1.  She got the offer a few days after the interview.

Extending Chinese at Primary Level

This term sees the launch of pilot programmes in Chinese at Beacon Hill, Kowloon Junior and Shatin Junior schools. These programmes will not only increase the amount of time dedicated to Chinese: the curriculum has been designed to cater for as wide a range of abilities as possible, and much work has been put into ensuring that the educational outcomes are clearly measurable.

The pilot will involve significant changes in Chinese curriculum, methodology and outcomes. As I know $5000 is a deposit.  The debenture fee is $59500.  You have to paid it within a month of acceptance.  Did ICS mention debenture fee in acceptance letter?  Will you pay it before ESF's interview in order to secure a place in an IS?

It mentioned in the letter that the deposit is $5,000 and the debenture is $59,500 payable within 1 month.

My child isn't in ESF kindie.  Sorry I didn't go to the ESF interview and so I don't know what the interview is about.
