Would love to hear feedback from any parents with kids at this school - in particular, would be grateful for any sharing on:

* the level of Chinese (particular for the Advanced stream)
* the school community
* the learning atmosphere

we have done a school tour and the kids look happy there.

Thanks a lot!

My nephew is there! He is so happy there! He used to study at local school before till P3, now he's Year 4 at Nord Anglia, he said NAIS is a great school with caring teachers & lovely classmates there. Even though his English is a bit behind but the teachers give lots of support and encouragement to him, they motivate him and persuade him to speak out whenever he has problem. Now he loves going to school daily, even he was sick, he still think of going to school (but when he was at local school, he kept thinking excuses to avoid going to school)!
Chinese is a bit easier than locals, but I saw his chinese homeworks still up to level, suitable for his age!

Now is not easy when compared to last 2 years when it was still a new school in Hk. Heard that there's waiting list now!

Not easy, like this yr, around 60 places out of 110 places of yr 1 were taken by siblings, and hundreds of applicants are competing for the remaining places, some applicants may hv priorities/ advantage due to debenture or holding foreign passports. So, not easy to get in as before.

Thank you Park88 for the feedback.  It is very useful!  May I ask if your nephew has extra Chinese lessons outside of school?

Riesling - do you have any sharing on the school?  You are very knowledgeable on the school!

Mmmmm.. Yes.. My sister-in-law arranges him to go day church and learn some extra chinese 補充練習 which she bought in bookshop herself only, then the church's 哥哥姐姐 teach him 3 days a week there! That's it... He now learns chinese without too much pressure, not like those days in local school he scared all subjects and no motivation in learning at all, just want to escape! A big big difference!

OK, thank you.   I was told in Year 1 that is only 30-45 min (cant remember exactly) of Chinese per day and gradually more as they move up?  Is that right?
Actually, I didn't even know they will classify kids into different level of Chinese.  If the "hardest" class is more advanced than like a CIS then I would imagine it is pretty advance.

Thanks for the info.

I think it's comparable to RC ? Don't think it's comparable to CIS because they claim they teach Chinese for 50% of time.
