my son got K1 am offers from Harts and St. Hilary. Both kinders are new but the tuition fee of Harts is higher than St. Hilary. Do you know any other fee needed to pay in Harts. And how to choose from those two new kinders? Thx for advice.

My son goes to Harts. My husband and I made this decision before summer so we didn't consider St Hilary's and I don't know too much about it to compare. I agree the tuition fee is rather high, but there aren't other misc fees to pay except for books and uniform so we think it's reasonable. We particularly like the fact that it's new and the classes are of small sizes. All the teachers seem to know my son pretty well and he's enjoying school a lot. Their curriculum is exactly the same as Hkps so we are not at all worried about the teaching quality etc. Hope this helps and maybe other parents can help to share info on SH.

Thx for sharing. Your experiences are really valuable for us. The school bus is now my major problem because Harts cannot arrange for us. On the other hand, St. Hilary seems too commercial and no teaching strategies for reference. The coming Friday, St Hilary will hold the orientation session for the kids. I am still wonder if I will attend.

My gals are studying in Harts K1 as well.

We already started the program in another school in Kowloon Tong in Aug.  We forfeited what have paid for the term expenses and school uniforms and decided to change to Harts.

We particularly like the curriculum (which is exactly the same as HK Preschool) and its small class structure.  We strongly preferred their teaching method that leaves lots of room for exploration, good language and presentation training, and most importantly the way the school instilling reading habits.

The school encourages parents to develop a daily reading routine with the kids and the habit will be monitored with a reading log.  The log sheet will be followed through by both the Chinese and English NET teachers after individual assessment on the kids presentation of the assigned books weekly.

There are some teachers from Hong Kong Pre-schools.  Teachers are very attentive to my girls with thorough understanding of the girls’ strengths and weaknesses.

My girls are eager to go to school and they act energized and happy.  The pace of learning is, overall about right for the girls, the program is structured and challenging but achievable.

We live nearby and we drive the gals to Harts , so we do not have the school bus concern. I remembered they gave us school bus information before no sure what are the arrangements now. You may want to confirm with them.

Personally I have no faith in St Hillary after reading many of the related articles, esp regarding to its founder. I would strongly advise you to think carefully and not to blindly believe that two former star principals (as advisors) can cast magic on the new school with no track record on its curriculum. (It's definitely not a replica of CCKG and not to mention that it has no linkage to Sheng Kung Hui.)

I have no idea about HARTS, but at least HKPS (Kln Tong) group has a good track record of its curriculum plus its method to groom children (in HKPS Kln Tong as well as PODS). If HARTS really manages to borrow the whole package and some of the staff, I think it will be a safer choice.
