What do you have for your kids after school aged between 4 to 7? I am trying to re-arrange and set a budget.

My son is turning 4 this autumn, and this is my plan:
SPD therapy (to be replaced by Cello when he recovers)
Capoeira
Tennis or Soccer TBD
Montessori mandarin lessons

I'd love to fit French & Enopi math in there but I promised myself to limit ECA to 3-4 max: 2 sports, 1 music, & 1 tuition. Kids need ample time for free play in order for healthy brain development.

I also set aside 1 afternoon per week for play dates. We got a group of moms from the same school to set aside that same day in the week (every Friday) so everyone is free to play that day ;)

similar here, very tempted to try out Enopi math but they already got piano, drawing, swimming and gymnastic. I think four is really maximum but I don't know which one should be replaced by Enopi.

jolalee  Every child is different. You can try taking out swimming in the winter months and try out just for a short term and see how that goes. Some kids love it, some hates it.  發表於 14-7-11 04:18

Why you are tempted for enopi ? I think sending kids there is a total waste of money.

Tuition is meaningless at this early stage unless you really find your kid is lag behind.

Of course I tried when my gal was 5. She can still recall how bad it was. We didnt go for any maths class afterwards.

term time: soccer, art class, piano, dance class (piano started only recently)

summer: swimming class, art classe (one at her regular place, anothe class at her cousin's place, because she likes to play with her cousins),ice skating,  piano (but piano teacher is going on holiday for one month)

my daughter is very active and very sociable, therefore, she loves going to these classes and suffers if she has to stay at home, she would have choosen to do more if I would let her ,but mummy gets too tired running around with her.

I don't want it to be too far from home so we'll go for Flex Studio at One Island South. The best should be the Hong Kong School of Capoeira in Central & DBay. I know a friend's kids are following an instructor in Tung Chung too, so I am sure they are teaching in various expat areas if you ask around your neighborhood.

We're moving so we'll decide on soccer vs tennis after we settle in. My son used to go to Kinderkicks in Tung chung and his coach is amazing. He's Irish and is great with small kids. Kinderkicks operates everywhere, and so is Tinytots. You can probably find one near you. For tennis we're going private, but again, we haven't decided yet between soccer or tennis.

My kid has taken several ECA when he was younger, namely, Enopi Math & Eng, violin and choir.   Since he was in full day KG, he learnt Japanese, Arts and drama...etc in the afternoon section.

Quite a lot of homework for Maths.  For English, they were teaching phonics for young kids.
