女兒被ISF及RC同時取錄,(是小學)真的不知如何決擇,
兩所學校都有強弱之處,可否幫我想想,那一所長遠來說較好?我希望女兒讀得開心同快樂,及一所校風好的!

ISF has much stronger Chinese than RC. If you regard it as very important for your daughter not only to speak fluent PTH but also to read and write Chinese at an advanced level, then ISF is definitely your preferred choice.

On the other hand, the usual worry with ISF is whether the English will be compromised. A lot of ISF students, especially those that are admitted in the past three years or so, actually come from English speaking families. Since ISF adopts the British National Curriculum for their English subject, students with such background stand a good chance of maintaining their English proficiency in terms of speaking, listening, reading and writing. For students that do not come from such background, I agree that their English levels might run the risk of falling behind international school kids (at least in the lower primary school years) depending on whether they have a solid foundation in English prior to entering ISF. If your kid already had a few years of immersion in a predominantly English education environment (such as an international pre-school and kindergarten), that will  help her maintain a good English standard.

You will definitely find ISF’s math program to be much more rigorous than most international schools (with the exception of SIS probably).

Copy and paste from another forum.  I think it is a fair comment.

"Unlike other typical international schools which share a somewhat less diverse "clients base", you will find at ISF parents from completely different planets - there are parents who speak not a single Chinese word but want their kids to learn more Chinese, and there are parents who are looking forward to a 100% western learning environment; there are parents who fancy their children studying in an international school but are scared of seeing them appearing in bikinis, and there are parents who cannot take the pressure of local schools but at the same time have difficulty in giving up Kumon. There is no way to please them all. Ask 10 ISF parents and you will get 11 different opinions. My short advice is - take a very good look of the school and see whether it fits your bill."

I can imagine ISF is a lot "diverse" in terms of  students mix.  For most of the int'l schools in HK, the families' mix are far more simple.  They are the foreigners who send their children here because they move into HK, another stream is those from HK families who do not buy in HK local system or who intend to send their children to overseas Uni/high school.

To me, ISF sounds to be an option if I don't buy in HK local system but at the same time, I don't want to give up learning chinese.  This is the usual dilemma.  But an additional struggle is so far the comments about ISF have been like 50/50 of both bad and good.
