I have the same situation as you, but my kid is son.  I hasn't had much revision for him.  I don't know whether should I  join those Primary interview class..If join, which one is good, I really no any idea and felt so headache, anyone can share your expereince with us?

First, i am just a lazy mum and these are my own observations and views. St cat teaching mode is project based and dinosaur is one of these topics. The teachers will not ask the child to memorize those names but may encourage them to use phonics to spell them out, not require the completeness nor assessment, but train the children how to hear the opening and ending sounds in K2.  They talked about dinosaurs again in k3 and let the children to learn and explore more in these areas. Don't under-estimate the children as they have great interest, they can find a lot of information and share in class.

K2會教triceratops....stethoscope.....等生字我諗有時中學生都未必識<----------無課如何在K2課程中竟然出現如深英文真是令人吃驚, K2可以用 phonics blend 到 triceratops 出來嗎? 老實説,我不相信
点都好,學校敢教,家長又受,這就是 win win

講起恐龍, 有一日阿仔同一個細些的朋友仔一齊玩,  個朋友仔有好多恐龍的玩具, 阿仔一隻隻教佢每種恐龍的名及是否食肉等, 其實個topic 學左好耐, 阿仔又唔係特別喜歡恐龍, 隨口講得出都幾好呵, 証明唔係死記逼出來個D.   不過未必識串番D字..
深淺係睇小朋友有冇興趣, 大人覺得冇用, 小朋友又唔覺又開心又學到D野,  又有咩問題呢.

雖然各有所好，但這種project based 的學習模式，他們真的樂在其中。有小朋友自己繪畫了一本恐龍小書，有公仔，文字，介紹各種恐龍。我兒子就用縐紙包水瓶，造了條brachiosaurus, 他喜歡吃草同大隻的。這些都不是老師要求的。過一會，他們又會討厭Mercury或Mars的顏色或溫度。

但每間學校都有其特點，st cat一樣有人考到心儀學校，有人比較失望。
