Congrats!  Surprised to see students in this forum.  I understand the school uses PTH for lower form ...
Thanks!

I would say it's about/bit above average, since our school naturally has to put more emphasis on English to cater the increasing number of Int'l students. All of our Chinese teachers are dedicated and qualified PTH speakers, most of them are CU Chinese Department graduates. After all learning a language cannot be relied on the teachers, your children need to take the initiative to learn as well.

As you may know Mrs. Rosalind Chan was the principal from 2004-2009. She is a renowned educator in Hong Kong which I'm sure you may have seen her name in different media. And indeed she helps the school to improve a lot.

Then Dr. Nick Miller became our 2nd principal, he brought our school to become more internationalized and offer freedom for students to choose either HK syllabus or UK syllabus for exam, obviously the latter one is for students who will study abroad or they expect they can get outstanding results to apply NON-JUPAS for local university.

Mr. Dion Chen currently takes up the acting prinicipal position, he is young but I must say he is among the most hardworking staff in our school, always shows great care to students. As far as I know, YHKCC will hire a new principal in the next few months for 2012-13 term onwards.

Hi
I'd say 80-90% of local students will take DSE, while most foreign students take GCE.

DSE and GCE students are split into different classes.

In junior forms, every class has a mixture of local and international students. For Chinese,English and Maths classes we split the students into 6 small sets(according to their ability, i.e. a student from class A can be in the same set of student from class B if they have the same ability). The school believes that small class teaching is useful for both teachers and students.

Sorry for the Kinda late reply! Have been busy working with my university project.

Of course I do love my school, I still go back there from time to time to meet with my teachers or when they have big function like Open Day, Int'l Night, etc.

I am currently studying in the School of Hotel and Tourism Management in HK Polytechnic university.

Yeh, local students are welcomed to study IGCSE, the school fee will be more expensive than IGCSE though.

Hi! I have always lived in Tung Chung so I never tried the school bus service. You may contact school at 2988 8123 to ask about the school bus schedule :)

Sorry that I haven't logged in for a long time, hope my response might still be helpful to you! The school does not implement a rule to force students to speak in English. However, as each class is mixed with both local and international students. They'll speak English with each other naturally.

Regarding  local Chinese curriculum for F.1 student, it's exactly the same as other schools. Students are allowed to choose HKDSE/GCSE after F.3

The school will have extra classes for students who prepare for public exam(which I think is quite normal for all secondary schools again). For junior forms, they have several assessments in each term to evaluate students' overall performance. The students are performing better each and every year.
