Dear Dr. T,

My son is 4 years and 8 months old. He has very good analysis skill and good memory and quite creative in his thinking and according to his teachers at his extracurriculum classes and also a lot of other friends and family, he is very "smart". However, his teacher at his kindergarten only commented him as average and need improvement in a lot of areas, he also does not show much interest in going to school. He does not have behavour problem, just a but emotional at times. So I would like to find some ways to really understand how to best support him and nurture him, one way seems to be to take him to an IQ test. Any comment you could offer? is he at the right age for an IQ test? and where should I go for these kind of test?
