kindle電子書，真是讀書人和中學生的恩物！

我剛買了kindle paper white電子書，簡直是欣喜！不壞眼、字體類型、大小和行距均可調教、又有不傷眼的自然紙白燈光！最重要的是有極方便的牛津字典；只要你輕觸該字，解釋馬上出現！
我下載了那原本近千頁的Team of Rivals的英文書，卻可在等車、乘巴士和MTR時不停閱讀，絕不「手軟亅，因為書實在相當輕和薄！我打算再買兩本給兩個讀初中的女兒！想學好英文或鼓勵閱讀，這些電子書實在太好了，真是 Amazing的產物！:loveliness:

不同的產品有不同的好處，真是要善用科技。
如你所說，我真是滿屋都是書，再沒有空間了！但這小科技卻可令人帶一千本書出街或去旅行，心悅那本便閱那本，又可記下書籤！早前我問一位外藉朋友，那電子書有什麼不好處，他竟說：沒有！也想不出不買此電子書的理由！現在我體會到他的話不無道理！{:1_1:}

其實kindle是個硬件，要下載才有書看。

我是新手用家，故知得不多，在摸索中；但可選擇適合自己子女的書；Amazon應是全球最大的電子書商，大概是包羅萬有，一定有適會小朋友的書！

我認為看中文書，尤其是小學生，最好借書看；始終有彩色的圖畫，吸引閱讀。

看中文書，無需查字典；但對於讀英文書，有了如此方便的字典系統，在遇到不明的生字時，沒有挫敗感，鼓勵謮者繼續閱讀！

水貨$860，在觀塘巧明街有售；在灣仔MTR站上之電腦商場$1180，聲稱是行貨，有18個月保養；但要寄去美國修理！我的同事用了舊版KINDLE三年有多，未有壞機。

1.There are 3 built-in English/English-Chinese dictionaries,  you may download the other dictionary with payment.

2.No audio function in the Kindle paperwhite one.
The reason why many of the secondary schools do not allow students to bring electronic gadgets is probably because they have been installed with games, which is not good for learning.

3.I can see no reason why any school will not allow secondary students,to bring it along.

Kindle這類的電子是方便，simplify your life，閱讀方便。若scan 書，再用kindle去閱讀，實是匪夷所思和浪費光陰！絕不建議{:1_1:}

I am a new user and I entered the Amazon web site in myt computer and chose the book. For example, you may enter the word "children books" and a list of over a million books to choose!

I think there will not be many free books for children.

No audio function for the Kindle paper white. However the salesperson told me that the older version has this function. I don't know why and I suppose the latest function will be overall better.
My daughters like playing smart phone, but after I bought them Kindle ebooks, it seems they like to spend less time on smart phone.

We, as parents, need to be aware that there are many pornographic books (very "salty") for free download. YOu need to know your children's kindle password or don't let them know the  password for your kindle purchase account.

You may buy it in the commuter mall by MTR Wan Chai station. One year guarantee but about $200 more expensive.

The product is a parallel one, so no guarantee service 7 days after purchase. I highly recommend this product to those students who want to improve English or those having eye sight problem.

Kindle is really an amazing product. Just press the word and you can find the meaning and it can show where the word appears in the book or in all your downloaded books! There is also a vocabulary building file to help you learn vocubularies better!

The dictionary function in kindle is really amazing; it also shows you where the word you search appears in the book as well as all your downloaded books. This will enhance your memory about the word. Besides the Vocabulary Builder will also help you memorize the vocabularies you have ever searched.-----All these will surely motivate reader to read books.

I think the older version of Kindle is not as good as the Kindle Paperwhite second generation.The saleman told me the dictionary function would not be as good as the latest version. DON'T BUY THE CHEAPER VERSION unless your English has already been very good and you don't need the dictionary function.

非常同意A-Mum:壞眼.「書柜」只放書就夠了,不用有其他電子媒體.
閱讀是樂趣,也培養情操;上網就有很多吸引人的東西,但人往往選擇那些無益又容易令人沉迷的資訊!{:1_1:}

不大明白為何「買兩部 Paper white, 一部專放中文書 (register with amazon.cn), 一部守專放英文書 (register with amazon.com)」我和兩個女兒共用一個戶口, 所有藏書在雲端可取回。 我不懂下載中文書，但若上 amazon.cn可下載中文書的話，可先de-register那本kindle，再上register amazon.cn，應不會太麻煩。

對不起，我不大熟悉平板電腦，未能作出對比。Kindle Paperwhite有以下好處：


輕身、輕巧、不壞眼、純粹閱讀。可選擇字體大小，它便自動排版；沒有上網的引誘，也非常方便查閱英文字典----- 一按即出解釋，可選擇中文或英文字典，也有查字記憶----將你曾在查過的字列出，好像也有該字在你的書中的出處！


所以我記這是真是讀書人和中學生的恩物！

Actually, no "本地保養",as far as I know. The out-of-order kindle would be sent to the USA and sent back to H.K., and it takes time. That's why I would like to buy a parallel one, cheaper and buy a new paralel one after few years. It seems the products are duarable.
