如果班中有多個需要English support的學生，老師都會為照顧到所有而降低語速，時間愈久愈難以轉到其他學校

是新IS嗎？
一般國際學校其實好少會出現呢個情況！
通常國際學校小朋友互相之間慣左用英語溝通。無論上堂，playtime，放學，假期都係！我問我小朋友邊個識講廣東話，佢完全答唔到。國籍就更加唔會知！
建議樓主不如去其他國際學校睇下了解下，你會見到有咩分別。

如果計新校，有可能。但舊校應該絶大部分不會。

Not only a common language but also the strongest language and use it as first language.

School has playground language policy ? If so you may talk with school.

I don’t know if school should have this policy. I feel like kids have their way to solve things out. Suppose those Korean kids have to speak English only, they can still only hang out with Korean kids. International school for sure has kids from different nationalities! ( so bs). Somehow I don’t get it why they can’t talk in their own language. I believe Kids can still make friends with those who can’t speak English ( or their own language).

請問邊間學校???呢種情況真係未聽過，通常佢地都係用英文，就算有個別同學識講母語都通常唔用更唔會因為同一語言而變成小圈子! 反而係大家會好有興趣學人地嘅語言，主要係粗口^^,我嘅小朋友都學咗唔少!!

Hey ! Hi

International school : for foreigners to study literally

Well, it doesn’t mean English has to be their first language. What if I am from Spain? Then I come to Hk and study in Is?

For locals, studying in IS means that English should be the first language? So it should start using English at home right ?

So it is different prospective if you are locals or foreigners. I respect their nationality and language.

During their free time, they can speak whatever language they want. My son encounters with the same issue. He doesn’t speak PTH (first language is English) and told me that some classmates speak in PtH so they don’t play with him. I simply tells him to initiate conversation with them.

請問有冇雙母語架，英文可以成為first language, 唔代表中文（或其他語言）一定成為second language

The same goes for French International school, Korean international school.

Yes, for Japanese International school, they have Japanese stream for the Japanese passport holders. For international stream, their default first language is English. And it’s the students’ loss if they speak in mother tongue only and refuse to make friends who speak English.

The thing is I wouldn’t mind what first language those kids r speaking during their free time. Kids sometimes have to learn about rejection. I know it is crazy but it is true. Things don’t always go in their way.

If school has language policy then talk to school. I don’t know how school will handle.

Some kids may new to HK and may not able to speak English. There is no language barrier with kids who really wanna hang out with each other. Kids can figure it out.

Schools use English as medium anyways.

For a small number of students, it may be possible to acquire two languages very close or at native level including reading/writing.

It does not seem possible to define dual native level languages as a language policy for “all” students.
