School Unitform.  How about all RC parent comments for buying the unitform as now is mix & match espeically for gril so many.  How do you think I buy all in 2 colors look too much and the child easy grow up.  What is other parent suggestion.

Should be in early September 2006.

By the way, I read from the RC website that they'll introduce an Intrumental Tution Programme later, which means children are offered to learn any instrument they choose with a personal tutor to teach.  I just wonder if this programme will be charged separately.

Dear Orchid99,

Please follow these steps:
1.  Go to: http://www.renaissance.edu.hk/home.php
2.  Click "Our School" at the left hand side
3.  Go down to "Departments"
4.  And then choose "erforming Arts"
5.  Then go half way down, you'll see the section on "Instrumental Tuition Programme"

I know this Programme will be launched later, but just wonder if Pheonix had this Programme before, so maybe someone knows about that can give me some information.  Thanks!

Hi mabelku,

I guess, no matter which school kids attend, parents normally buy at least 2 sets of uniforms for their kids as spare clothing.  The colors that RC chose is just to give students an additional choice.  I don't think there'll be too many items or they'll cost us more because the uniforms are for all seasons.

Mine is a boy.  I plan to buy 2 polo shirts & 2 shorts (one color each) for him for summer, an addition of pants & sweater for winter (to be purchased when needed).  If the blazer isn't a compulsory item, I'll let my son wear his own coat to school in cold winter days.  This is also what we did in PIS.  

It seems girls have more choices.  They can wear skort or short.  I suggest you ask your girl to choose the colors & items she wants to wear & buy the no. of items that you think is the least you need.  In case you find it not sufficient, buy extra ones after the start of the school later.

As mentioned in the school correspondence, the school will set up a shop in the school to provide the sale of educational supplies & uniforms.  We won't need to go to the supplier in Jordan in the future.

要自己買.  學校冇特別要求.  

如果你還有懷疑, 可以在八月尾Induction Day當日再同學校問清楚.  到時應該還未錯過市面的Summer sale吧!

How about the school bag? Do I need to buy a large size for my child? Do they have to take a lot of books to school everyday? Would you please tell me the timetable in PIS? I want to know what will they do everyday.

Just out of curiosity.. currently there will be approx 830 students starting at RC this sept 2006. Does anyone know how many are from former PIS ? Or how many new intakes do they have ?  And for the Extra CCA - do we need to pay for it ?

As far as I know, about half (i.e.400) comes from Phoenix.

How do parents like the new uniform of Renaissance?  Feel of this school seems to be quite different from traditional ESF schools.

I quite like the idea of uniform. The principal explained that this idea is becos of the complaint from the PIS secondary school students that they don't like the school uniform. Therefore, the school deliberately make the uniform more fashionable and with mix and match element for the students to have some flexibility. I do appreciate this open-mindedness and 'democracy'.

As far as I know, the school has invited SPI to design school bags with logo for both primary and secondary sections.  I think that more detail will be informed later. (and it is optional)

1) Which kindy your kid was studying before      

2)Any interview for RC's P1 (=local K3) ? If so, is it conducted solely in English ?

3)Are you speaking English to your kids daily ?
