A parent has to set a clear goal and commitment to your kid. Say you want you kid to learn Chinese as a must, and a kid sat no, then you have to show your stand clear. If you keep everything hidden, the one who try to talk with you will go nowhere.

Well, thanks for your comments. Actually I am still waiting for ESF. Now I have got the FIS offer letter. If you have the offers from AIS and FIS, which school will you choose? any reasons for doing that? Thanks a lot.

Maybe I pretend to be you and your question like:

I want to let my kid to try international school, and fortunately he got an offer from FIS (? International stream), I have also waiting ESF for him (better state the name of the ESF primary).

I chose these 2 schools because… (? Location, ? Friends’ recommendation, ? Local / Expat mix / ?IB performance…)

He is also fortunate enough to get a local school offer (APS), and we are locals and knew the local system better. (the Chinese environment is also our concern? The homework / assessment is your favorite to brush your kid or you want to skip the comparison among the kids?)

It takes me to think again if the kid’s priority goes to local system / international system while he was in elementary.

I am not working out which system best suits my kid / my family.

I really do not want the drawbacks of ? System (eg difficult to catch up Chinese / dictation every week…), but if I do not choose local / IS there is something I really love will be missed eg independent thinking / excel by practice…
