填esf app. form technique!

想問下若填esf app form，language 個欄如果唔填英文係native， 係咪機會好微？ 咁若果填識得講中文係咪又唔係咁好？

We have to declare that all the information given is 100% true.  And I wrote only the truth which is my son can understand and speak both Cantonese and English.

I also declare the truth, fluent in Cantonese but not native in English, i m so worry that i haven't got a chance for interview.

I think it is not that difficult to get an interview for the ESF. In addition, if you get the chance to interview, it is very likely your bb will get a place there.

BTW, autest_baby, which ESF are your bb applying for? Primary/ Kinder?

My son will go to the QBS next in August for P.1.

I'm going to apply QBS for my daughter, should you talk with your son in English at home and which Kinder does he attend?  Any comment on QBS?  Please advise.

My son is on the waiting list of QBS.  DO you know if there are any techniques in gaining an interview opportunity. We are not in those priority categories.  Are you?

My son is not in the priority groups.
My husband, my son and me are local Chinese.
I indicate that we are local Chinese and communicate in Cantonese and English at home in the application form.

Because we were not very keen to send my son to ESF, we did not prepare anything for applying this school. When some parents of my son's classmates began to send the application to the ESF, we just filled in and sent an application form to the ESF admission centre. My son was invited to attend an interview in March. One week after the interview, we were informed that my son was admitted. Therefore, I think it is not that difficult to get a place there.

Because I hope my son can acquire better English ability, I started the English education in his early stage.

Since my son was 2 months, I began to talk to him in English and let him see Disney Cartoon in English.

I sent him to the International Class of a kindergarden when he is 3. Most of his classmates are foreigners (Japenese, Dutch, Indian, Pakistani, English, Sri Lankan, etc). Class teachers are native English speakers. Only 4 out of 30 students are local Chinese. All the lessons and activities are in English. Therefore, all the students are forced to speak in English.

He can communicate quite well in English now, however not as fluent as a local Chinese when using Chinese. (I guess it is a kind of trade off.) In addition, he speaks Cantonese and Putonghau like a foreigner with English accents. Both my husband and I are trying our best to correct him.

Dear autest_baby,

Don't give up yet.
I think there is always ocassional vacancy in ESF as some foreigners may leave HK some times.
Keep writing and calling the school.
In addition, there are lesser children  since 2002. The number of vacancy of school will be larger than the number of children. Supply is larger than demand. Therefore, I think you should not be worry about late submission.

I am not familiar with the ESF application procedure. My kid is studying in P1 ( born in Sept 2000 ) of a local primary school now. I want to send him to the new ESF in DB ( Discovery Bay ). When should i submit the form?

Is your child born at 2005? You must apply between 1/10/07 and 30/10/07.

I wonder when will your daughter start K1, is this coming sept or the year 2008? Because I am going to apply ESF kinder too, so I want to know the exact time they start receiving applications.

My daughter is apply k1 in the coming Sept, its too late for my daughter cos the deadline of my daughter's age group is oct 2006, so , hope they can put her in waiting list. Btw, if u want to apply esf  kinder of your daughter, u better check with the school cos it got a application schedule, u can check the link below, hope it can help!
