don't worry, just write a few words to the principle and also talk with the class teacher in advance will be fine.  The letter won't need to be so serious.  The school face this matter every year.  But as I know, some kindergarten only write letter to limited student.  So, as mentioned, it is better to check with the class teacher in advance.
